Ministry Description

Young people have a special place in my heart since I knew Jesus during that period of my life.
I believe discipling the young generation is an enormous task that is before the body of Christ today.
Reaching the youth for the Lord will create a great impact on society, the world, and for eternity.

I'm deeply passionate about what I do in ministry. As the camps and retreat coordinator, my primary focus revolves around planning impactful camping adventures and transformative retreat experiences.
These events aren't just about enjoying the great outdoors; they're about fostering spiritual growth, building community, and creating lasting memories. We are also heavily involved in the church and schools so it does not stop during the event, but it is a way for us to introduce discipleship and teach the godly habits to them even after the retreat/camp. Beyond organizing these retreats, I've also been heavily involved in kickstarting our English ministry during the pandemic which now has hundreds of students around the country. We continue to do it until now. It's been incredibly fulfilling to see this community grow and thrive, providing a space where young people and young adults can explore their faith, ask questions, and find support in their journey.

It's about relationships. I see myself as a mentor and a guide, walking alongside these individuals as they navigate life's ups and downs. Whether it's through one-on-one discipleship or leading group discussions, my goal is to help them deepen their faith and discover their purpose. Overall, my ministry is all about creating opportunities for spiritual growth, fostering community, and empowering the next generation to live out their faith in meaningful ways and reach their next step with Jesus.

About Barbie

I didn’t grow up in a Christian home. I thought my good works could earn me a place in heaven. I was very self-centered and prideful. Education played a major role in my life and all I wanted to have material riches and enjoy life. I was presented with the gospel when I was 16 years old an overnight camp before I entered college. I already know Jesus died for the sins of the world – but I didn’t realize it was specifically for me. That night I was told that Jesus lived, died, was buried, and rose again on the third day to save me. I have always thought I was a good person, which was enough. Still, I was wrong for all have fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23) and the only way to have a personal relationship with God is through His Son Jesus Christ, and believing in what He has done on the cross (John 3:16; Romans 6:23) . I admitted that night that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. I believed in what Jesus Christ had done for me. I received the gift of eternal life on April 15, 2006.

In June of the same year, I entered university and met missionaries from the Word of Life Campus Ministry at my university. I was able to be discipled and exposed to various types of ministry. I studied at the Word of Life Bible Institute (WOLBI) Philippines afterward. I thought I already knew a lot about the Bible and who God is but the Lord humbled me the more I studied His Word. I started to be burdened with people living life without a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I wanted to share with them the good news! Another burden developed when I was studying God’s Word and that is to serve God through cross-cultural missions. I committed to do cross-cultural full-time ministry in 2014.

Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless, I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
