A variety of ministry opportunities for 8 weeks: local church VBS, testimonies, speaking, open air evangelism and neighborhood visitation. Both children ministry and teen camp counseling. Plus program planning, support and design work for teen camp.
You help our local church team strengthen the ministry of 4 local churches in different areas. Understand principles of ministering cross-cultural to children, teens and adults. You help us provide a dynamic teen camping ministry for 3 weeks.
Details
Travel
You will fly to LF Wade International Airport in Bermuda (the only one). Most fees are included in the airfare. Your budget handles luggage fees. It is an hour and a half flight from most east coast cities.
Visa
Americans, Canadians and most Europeans need no visa to minster in Bermuda. Bermuda is a British Colony, so any country requiring a visa will need to visit the British Embassy. Most flights to Bermuda enter through the USA or Canada, so travel visas to these countries are necessary. Our staff will apply for a work permit for you to live in Bermuda for 8 weeks.
Food
Meals are included in your budget. Most times you will be living with a family and sharing their meals. Others will be in apartments where you will prepare some of your own meals. At camp, all meals are amazingly delicious for all campers & staff. Dietary limitations will be managed.
Housing
Your budget includes housing and board in host homes for the weeks we are not at the camp. WOL camp in Bermuda is on a separate island. We all live at the camp. All your meals are covered.
Transportation
You will be met at the airport by WOL staff and escorted to your host home. Each morning the WOL van will drive you to ministry until you have your independent transportation. All students are taught to ride a rented moped which you will ride for the remainder of your time in Bermuda.
What To Bring
Bermuda is a sub-tropical climate. Bring shorts, t-shirts, sneakers, swim shoes, swimsuit and sunblock. Things in Bermuda are expensive so purchase items like cosmetics & health aids first. Everything is available here but 50% more in cost.
What To Wear
Generally shorts, shirts, sneakers and flip flops most days. Sunday's we dress nicer for church ministry/ Bring one dress shirt & tie and girls 2 skirts/ dresses for church ministry.

Power in Bermuda is 120V standard as in the US or Canada. We drive on the LEFT side of the roads. Bermudians are extremely friendly people, so prepare to speak to & greet many people daily.
