English Camp / Bible Club Intern

Berlin, Germany Koeris

Opportunity: English Camp / Bible Club Intern
Location: Berlin, Germany Koeris
Opportunity Type: Intern
Dates: April 1, 2016 - March 31, 2018
We are looking for a native English speaking intern team -- possibly one or two young married couples -- who have experience with and a heart for camp and clubs ministry. In preparation for and during camp season they will be taken under the wings of the current camp directors and will learn to implement all aspects of the camp program (both the organizational, spiritual and fun aspects of the program). Thanks to the fact that we run English Camps instantaneous rewarding ministry is possible for native English speakers without having to learn German first. Off season (during the academic portions of our Bible Institute) the interns will take German WOLBI students under their wings and focus on pioneering and developping the WOL club ministry in German local churches. If the ministry involvement proves to be a fit in terms of personality, gifts, and passion, the idea is that the individual(s) become our long-term English Youth Camp or Kids Camp Director(s)/ Clubs Ministry Coodrinator(s) on the German field.

Our English Kids and Youth Camps have become a well established tool for evangelism and discipleship and an effective extension to our Bible Institute core ministry. Many young Germans from churched and unchurched backgrounds love to brush up their English. Our camps are a perfect opportunity to do so in a Christ-centered environment of clean fun. In the course of the one-week camps the campers will be introduced to Christ and/or discipled to embrace basic Christian habits such as Quiet Time, Scripture Memory, Fellowship, Evangelism etc. Every year many kids and teenagers trust Christ as their personal Savior for the first time or dedicate their lives to the Lord at our campfire services. For some of them the next logical step after their camp experience will be to attend our German Bible Institute once they graduate from German highschool. Our WOL Clubs Ministry is still in the beginning stages and needs passionate pioneers to develop it and make it grow. The cooperation with local churches will allow us to pour into some of our campers in-between camps and help them become more like Christ.

Qualifications

We are looking for excited, creative, high-energy individuals or couples who love God and His Word and have a heart for young people and a passion for the ministries described above. You can be college age or older. You should have attended at least both years of WOLBI, have ample experience with WOL camps and be able to see yourself eventually directing kids or youth camps in the future. In addition, a thorough WOL Clubs background would be very desirable. It certainly would be ideal if you grew up in the WOL clubs setting and exemplied its philosophy by at the same time being flexible enough to be open to and to allow for cultural adjustments. The gifts of evangelism and teaching would be ideal, but at least you should be willing to do the work of an evangelist and have the aptitude to teach and the willingness to develop these skills for God's glory. Musical and/or athletic talent or giftedness are very welcome and helpful but not a must, as there are usually enough people on location that these tasks can be delegated to. Continued long-distance learning (through e.g. Liberty or Summit Universties) during the internship is possible and assumed unless you have a Bachelor's degree already.

Other

Free use of on-campus laundry facilities and unlimited free international (U.S.) calling. Our internet services are exceptionally slow due to our remote location. That is why skyping will hardly be possible.

Finances

Cost

$10,601.50

About the Finances

The intern(s) will need to raise support. The above figures are estimates. The specific support needs depend on the marital status interns and will be assessed in cooperation with the International Ministry Department.
