About Josiah

The older I get, the more I realize how beautiful and loving my Savior really is. Growing up, I was brought to church by my parents and heard a lot about Jesus. I was very young (about 4 years old), when my dad explained to me that I was a sinner and that I couldn't do anything myself to get to God. I trusted in Jesus to be my Savior right there, but I certainly didn't always live like I really believed it. Going through middle and high school, I tried finding my identity in pleasing other people, which left me feeling empty, alone, and hopeless. But even through the darkness, God was still working in me. Knowing that I had not been following God the way I should be, I decided to attend the Word of Life Bible Institute in Schroon Lake, NY after high school. As I was taught the Bible during this 2 year program, God's eternal and powerful Word drastically changed my perspective and worldview.
Over the course of my life, God has been using people and circumstances to grow my interest and love for the people of Asia. This led me to take on a 2-year, cross-cultural internship in Taiwan from 2019-2020. I loved the ministry, people, culture, language, and missions team so much that I have decided to return there as a full-time missionary, to live among Taiwanese and other Asian people as long as God allows me. Although I am weak and imperfect, I truly believe that God can use sinful people to share His love and display His glory!

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 - "Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."
