Ministry Description

I am currently an intern with Word of Life Bermuda and I am working alongside local missionaries in different youth events. My roles as of right now in this organization is to be an intern that effectively communicates the gospel to the youth of Bermuda. I will also provide fresh eyes and a closer connection to the youth of Bermuda as we tackle new ministries, I will bring a younger perspective on the ministry and help to reach kids with the good news of Jesus Christ. I have been and will be given some of the responsibilities within the resources department as well as management and will help facilitate them as the company sees fit.

About Malachi

I Malachi Hall, was born into a Christian home. I grew up going to church at a young age, attending Sunday school and going to Vacation Bible School in the summer time. In school, I would recite the Lord’s Prayer and the mission statement but it didn’t change anything in my life at that time. One day when I sat listening to the lesson the teacher, Brent Finchum, was sharing the gospel at Vacation Bible School. I sat there and realized that after all these years I had been going to VBS I had never accepted Jesus as my savior. It was then that I raised my hand and made a decision to make the Lord Jesus Christ my personal savior based on Romans 10:9. I understood that Jesus came to take my place on the cross where I should have died for my sins. I knew that I had lied, stole and even hit my sister a couple of times and these were labeled as sin. I knew that this separated me from God and that I needed his forgiveness.
After that, things really hadn’t changed much. I still went VBS and recited Psalm 23 in school but now I could see what the bible really meant by saving grace. I could apply these concepts to my life and grow in my walk with God. However, it was not easy. As I grew up things seemed to be getting more difficult to do the right thing and it wasn’t till Word of Life teen camp that I allow God to take control. When I went to Word of Life Camp, I had thrown many sticks in the fire saying that I would stand up and represent Christ. But that fire inside of me died a few days after the commitment and I would go back to living a worldly life. Unfortunately, it took me a long time to realize that was not the life I needed to live. So in the year of 2013 at camp instead of just throwing a stick in the fire, I told the Lord that I would serve Him with all of my heart not just half. One passage that I think now impacts me a lot when I am scared or not really in the mood to do something I know I should is Psalms 23 1-4 and 6:
0 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for You are with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever and ever amen.
So now instead of just saying the mission statement, I pray that I will live it!

My son, do not lose sight of these— keep sound wisdom and discretion, and they will be life for your soul and adornment for your neck. Then you will walk on your way securely, and your foot will not stumble. If you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.Do not be afraid of sudden terror or of the ruin[a] of the wicked, when it comes, for the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught.- Proverbs 3:21-26
