Ministry Description

I currently live in Atibaia, Brazil, working with the children's relief center. We reach out to underprivileged children ages 4-12 with our afternoon program, Monday-Thursday and our teen program which is Tuesday-Thursday mornings. We have a daily routine which welcomes the kids, games and activities, lunch, rest time, devotions/discipleship, and afternoon activities. Our afternoon activities include: homework studies, physical education, Bible verse class, culinary, arts and crafts, and small groups. Our teen program activities include: welcome, opening games, devotions/discipleship, English class, culinary, arts and crafts, and soccer. We also have family meetings one Saturday a month where we have devotions, arts and crafts and fellowship. I think the best part of this ministry is showing the love of Christ to these children who are coming from tough backgrounds. This may be the only place they see who God truly is. I am so excited to be able to bring God's Word around the world.

About Sarah

I have been blessed to be born in a Bible believing family, where we went to church all the time-Sunday, Wednesday, whenever the doors were open! At the age of four, in Sunday School, my teacher clearly presented the Gospel message: I am a sinner, my sin deserves death, Christ paid the penalty for my sin, He rose again, and if I would believe in Him than I could spend eternity with Him. I was saved at that age, but had growing to do. I questioned the assurance of my salvation, but thankfully was given Scripture to give me confidence that NOTHING could separate the love God has for me. I realized that my relationship with God was a personal one and that I could not piggy-back on my parents faith. I rededicated my life to Christ at the age of 16. In 2012, I went to the Bible Institute where I learned much more about who God is and what He has done for me. I learned how I need to step out and really tell others about His amazing grace and love for them. I have finished my second year at the BI in 2014. I was in Brazil for two years with Word of Life's Cross Cultural Internship which lead me to become a full-time missionary there. I am excited to serve the Lord where ever He may call me!

Philippians 2:9-11-Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
