Ministry Description

During my time in Atibaia, I've been given a unique opportunity to serve in two outreach ministry programs!
The first is our afterschool Vinde program. I get to serve the children and youth Mondays - Thursdays through children’s programs, tutoring, sports, discipleship, and support roles. I get to use my love for teaching and discipleship each week to bring the good news of Christ to the children and youth.
The second is our camp ministry Alcance. I will be helping with all things camp. From January-March I will be helping with the preparations of camp. Part of my role is to help and assist with various on scene and behind the scenes roles to help camp run as smoothy as possible. Alcance camp is year round and happens on the weekends like a retreat. This is a fun packed weekend where underprivileged youth can come out and experience the Gospel in a personal way. I will be helping with many things from set up and tear downs of camp, to program or camp counseling down the road.
God took me at my lowest point and showed me what His love was capable of overcoming. I am so excited to bring the Good News of Christ to the children and youth in this community through teaching and camp ministry. During my two year internship I will also be studying for my certificate of Teaching English as a Second Language.

I grew up in a Christian home but hadn't given my life to Jesus due to hurts going on at home. I was headed down a dark road and God took the worst of my life and flipped it on its head to bring glory to Him. When I was 15 I finally understood that God sent His only Son, Jesus, to be tortured to death in MY place. Jesus took on the punishment that I deserved and then defeated death three days later by rising from the dead. I asked Jesus to come into my heart and watched the addictions I had slowly break through His power and help. After graduating highschool I realized I needed to build a firmer foundation and understanding of God's word before doing ANYTHING else! I came to the Word of Life Bible Institute and studied God's word for two years and during that time God burdened my heart for ministry. God then opened a door for missions work during my second year at the Word of Life Bible Institute. After much time and prayer I realized that God was calling me to give Him my all my own ideas, hopes, and desires for my life and place it in His hands.

"For "Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved." But how can they call on Him to save them unless they believe in Him? And how can they believe in Him if they have never heard about Him? And how can they hear about Him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why Scriptures say, "how beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!" -Romans 10:13-15.
