About Ady

Adrian and Nicoleta Ilie – Word of Life Montenegro

We were both born in Romania, and during our teenage years we came to know the Lord Jesus. From that time on, God placed in our hearts a desire to serve Him. We grew up in the local church and became actively involved in youth ministry alongside Word of Life Romania and other mission organisations, serving in Bible clubs and camps — both in Romania and in Montenegro, a place where God placed a special calling on our hearts.

After many years of ministry in Romania, we moved to England in 2018, believing it would only be a temporary season.

Even during our time in the UK — including a very difficult period in our lives — we did not stop serving. We continued to be involved in mission work in Montenegro, while also faithfully serving in our local church in the UK.

In 2019, our lives changed dramatically when Nicoleta was diagnosed with cancer. It was a very difficult time, but God remained faithful. In the spring of 2025, Nicoleta was declared cancer-free.

Shortly afterwards, God called us to take a step of faith: to serve as long-term missionaries in Montenegro. Together with our children — Iosua, Natanael, and Jacob — we now serve as a family in Nikšić, Montenegro.

We wholeheartedly believe in the calling to “tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord” (Psalm 78:4).
