Hi, I'm Abby Nicholes. I minister in South Korea Jeju Island.
I am the Administrative Assistant at WOLBI Jeju. I'm someone who helps keep things running behind the scenes. Big-picture leaders get things started, but it takes detail people to keep it going. A strong ministry needs both. So what do I specifically do?
1. Expand WOLBI Jeju’s professor and conference speaker network to include younger teachers who love the Word of God.
2. Coordinate WOLBI Jeju’s academic, student life, and ministry calendar.
3. Plan the annual missions survey and study trips to Thailand/Vietnam, Israel, and Turkey/Greece/Italy.
4. Team teach Bible Study Methods and Bible geography to the WOLBI Jeju students.

I’m a missionary kid, born and raised in South Korea. My parents serve full-time with Word of Life, so I grew up knowing the name of Jesus as well as "mom" and "dad." From an early age, I read missionary stories. I wondered, "Why would they spend their whole lives telling Jesus’ story?" Was it that special? I asked my mom and she explained the gospel in a way six-year-old me could understand. I believe that’s when I accepted Jesus' gift of salvation.
But assurance didn’t come easily. When we moved to Jeju in 2009 to start WOLBI Jeju, I watched students and campers respond to the gospel year after year. I kept wondering, "Am I really saved? I don’t feel anything. What if I didn’t do it right? I don't want to go to hell!" I raised my hand multiple times, hoping to get security—but it was always temporary.
Then one night, my mom shared a simple truth that changed everything: Jesus paid for all my sins—past, present, and future. My salvation isn’t about what I’ve done or not done; it’s about what JESUS has done. So when I stand before God, I won’t say “Let me in because I did x, y, z,” but “Because You promised x,y,z, and I believe You.”
Since then, I’ve had NO doubt: I am saved. “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” —Romans 10:9
