Ministry Description

It is our goal to make disciples who will go out and make more disciples. We do this by (1) sharing the good news of what Christ has done for us everywhere we go, (2) encouraging and working with the local church, and (3) Discipling our students in EMME and teaching them to use their abilities to serve God and share Christ with others so that when they go home at the end of the year, they will continue to do ministry wherever they go.

At the beginning of the year in EMME, the 20 to 30 students will come to Lapa (South Brazil) and do an intense training for a month and a half before they start traveling that includes rehearsal and Bible classes. For about 9 months every year, we travel every two days from city to city, always working through a local church. During the day, we present the gospel using Open Air Evangelism style presentations at schools, malls, nursing homes, drug rehabilitation centers and basically anywhere God opens the doors. Brazil is still very open to the gospel and we are trying to use the opportunities that God gives us. During the day, we invite people to come to our main production which is at night. We set up a stage and present the gospel through evangelistic cantatas, and at the end of the presentation, we invite people to make the decision to trust in Christ. We then ask them to come backstage where our group can talk to them face to face and pray with them about the decision they have made. We then get their contact information and give that to the local church we are working with at that time. That way the person who just trusted Christ has somewhere to go for follow up and it also helps the churches to grow and to make sure they are reaching out to their community. About Andrew

When I was 5 years old I went to VBS at my church and a teenager from the youth group was teaching and presented the gospel. I learned and understood that I was a sinner and deserved to go to hell, but God sent His Son to die in my place and He rose from the dead, and that all I had to do to have eternal life was to trust in Christ alone to save me. On that day, I trusted in Christ as my Savior. When I was 12, my family moved to Brazil as missionaries with a ministry called EMME, which, in English, stands for "School of Ministry of Music and Evangelism." I was able to be involved in ministry first hand and see my parents discipling the students and see the impact God had on thousands of lives each year. When I was coming out of high school though, I wasn't living for God anymore, I was only serving myself and honestly didn't care what God wanted for my life. It was amazing how God used some of the EMME students who my parents had been teaching, and those students came along side of me and discipled me and helped see where I was heading with my choices. They helped me realize I had to make a choice of whether I was going to use my life to serve myself, or to serve and glorify God. That was when I felt called to go into full time ministry and serve God by helping others to see what Christ has done for them and help them develop a passion for serving God, the same way God has done in my life through EMME.

I trusted in Jesus Christ to be my Savior when I was 18 and went to the Word of Life Bible Institute two years later. Every time I heard a missionary speak in church or a conference, I always felt a pull to see people in other countries trust Christ as I had. When Andrew and I started dating, he would tell me stories of Brazil. It was so exciting to hear how God was working there. In 2013 I got the opportunity to actually go on a missions trip to Brazil with Word Of Life . I was blown away by the culture, the people, and the ministry opportunities in Brazil. While I was there, I felt God was calling me to go to Brazil. After Andrew and I graduated from Word of Life I got to go back to Brazil for 6 months to get to know the culture more. I got to see the ministry that Andrew's family was involved in (EMME). I got to travel and help out as much as I could with the little bit of Portuguese I knew. It was when I traveled with this ministry that I knew that was where God wanted me to be. I fell even more in love with the ministry and with what God was doing through it. It was incredible to see the discipleship and the desire to have people trust Christ. I am excited and honored to be able to work in this ministry down in Brazil.

Romans 10:14-15 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent?
