About Abigail

I had the privilege to grow up in a Christian home, where both my parents loved the Lord. They raised my three older brothers and I up in a godly household. However, growing up, my faith was never my own, it was always my parents. I always struggled with the reality of heaven and hell and questioned what my eternal destination really was. I never quite understood the importance of having a relationship with Jesus, I only ever really had the head knowledge of it all, and I thought that was enough. It wasn't until I went to Word of Life Ridge for the first time in the summer of 2015 that I heard the gospel presented in a way I clearly understood it, where I put my faith and trust in Jesus for the first time.
Prior to my salvation I struggled a lot with identity, self-harm, addiction, depression, anger and anxiety. I sought identity from all the wrong things, like popularity, relationships/friendships, and especially sports. I was in a dark place, but God. After accepting Jesus into my heart and then a little later on in 2016 at Word of Life snow camp daily dedicating myself to a relationship with Jesus, my life changed. I spent everyday in the Word of God, and I finally let the Lord take ahold of my life. My depression turned to joy and throughout high school I used my testimony to try and minister to my public school, whether it was my friend groups or my sports teams.
After spending two-years at the Word of Life Bible Institute, the Lord radically moved in my life. Throughout both years there, the Lord brought freedom from my past, healing from heartache, wisdom and understanding in decisions, a passion, love, and desire for ministry, and a divine calling to give all that I ever hope to be to His plan for my life. A calling that has brought me to where I am today. A calling that I submitted to during Missions Conference in 2023. A calling that has turned into the best decision I have ever made, second to my salvation and dedication to Christ. A calling that is about so much "more than me".
May my life be all about who He is and what He has called me to. Using the gifts, passions, and talents He has given me to further spread the gospel, wherever I go...next up in Brazil.
