Hi, we're Chris and Beth Steiner. We minister in International Ministries Office.
Would you like to give to this missionary's project?
After serving in South Korea for 2 years, God led Chris and Beth to establish Word of Life in Taiwan, where they served for 10 years with a focus on growing the discipleship training center there, (SYME). In October 2016 their family moved to Nicaragua to work with the WOL team there and to help establish a discipleship training center, (English 4 Life). They returned to the USA in 2018, and Chris continued working with the home office doing a variety of projects, including working with a team in Rwanda in 2019, coaching the WOL team in Poland when they started a discipleship training center, (English 4 Life) in 2019/2020, and working with the WOL Japan team as a transitional field leader, 2020 - 2023. Chris continues serving teams in the Indo Pacific region with WOL and working with the application team supporting new missionary applicants from around the world. Recently he has also been serving through the creation of training materials and handbooks for different ministries within WOL.

Chris grew up near Findlay, Ohio and accepted Christ as his Savior when he was five years old. While attending Christian summer camps as a teenager, he dedicated his life to serving Christ in any way that the Lord would lead him. As a university student he began to be very interested in missions and started preparing to be used by God in overseas service.
His ministry preparation started with two years at Word of Life Bible Institute. He earned a Biblical Studies degree from Liberty University, and a Masters in Intercultural Studies and Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) from Columbia International University, Columbia, South Carolina. After his studies he taught both university students and immigrants and refugees, first in Columbia S.C, then in Denver, Colorado, where he also volunteered with campus ministries in nearby universities.
Chris and Beth initially met while attending Word of Life Bible Institute, but it was almost 10 years later that the Lord brought them together in a new and significant way. They were married in April 2003. Shortly thereafter they began serving with Word of Life in South Korea at a discipleship/youth ministry training center (SYME) for South Koreans.
Beth grew up in a Christian family in Marietta, Ohio, and accepted Christ as her personal Savior during Vacation Bible School at the age of seven. Later, while attending a Christian summer camp, she dedicated her life to the Lord and to going anywhere He would lead her. She attended 2 years at Word of Life Bible Institute and completed her undergraduate work at Baptist Bible College in Clarks Summit, PA. Later, she, earned a master's degree in teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) at Columbia International University. After graduating she taught in public and private elementary school settings while continuing to be involved in short term mission trips during the summer breaks.
Beth loves partnering with her husband in ministry. The greatest gift God has given to them as a couple are three beautiful children. In November 2007 the Steiners were blessed with their first child, Jonathan, born in Taiwan! In September 2009 they welcomed their second child, Nathan, also born in Taiwan! In October 2012 they welcomed their third child, Kaitlyn, also born in Taiwan! Beth has enjoyed the challenges of helping to start discipleship and ministry training centers.
