Ministry Description

This summer, I will be serving in Camp Ministry at Palavra de Vida (PV), Portugal. Our team will minister to children and teens through high-energy camp programs, Gospel-centered teaching, small group discipleship, games, and personal mentorship. Camp ministry creates a unique opportunity to build meaningful relationships and clearly present the message of Christ in a focused, life-changing environment. I will be serving in any way I am capable to through, media, lifeguarding, maintenance, kitchen, housekeeping ect. My heart is to serve faithfully, point students to Jesus, and support the local church as we invest in the next generation in Portugal.

About Cydney

I was raised in a Christian home where faith wasn’t just something we talked about—it was something we lived. My grandfather Dave Nightingale was my childhood pastor and later stepped into missionary work with Word of Life. His example of wholehearted devotion to the Gospel deeply shaped my understanding of what it means to follow Christ. I accepted Jesus into my heart at six years old and made the decision to be baptized at thirteen. While I had always known about Christ, it wasn’t until my freshman year of high school that I truly began applying the Gospel to my everyday life.

When I was ten, my parents divorced, and shortly after, my mom remarried. We moved from my small hometown of Fennville to Oak Park, just outside Chicago. That transition marked a significant turning point in my faith. For the first time, I faced criticism and challenges because of what I believed. Instead of weakening my faith, those experiences deepened it and pushed me to know Jesus more personally and authentically.

In January 2020, I attended Pursuit Camp at the Word of Life Florida campus, where I made the intentional decision to fully devote my life to the Lord. That commitment led me to complete both my first and second years at Word of Life Bible Institute in New York. During that time, the Lord clarified my calling and ignited a passion in me to be an example of Christ in every area of my life—wherever He sends me.

This summer, I have the opportunity to serve on a 12-week missions trip to Portugal. My desire is to faithfully share the Gospel, disciple believers, and serve the local church with humility and love. I am eager to step out in obedience, trusting that God will use this season to grow me and impact others for His Kingdom. Thank you for prayerfully considering partnering with me in this mission.
