Ministry Description

I will be joining the Word of Life team in Quebec as a Cross-Cultural Intern. This means I will be doing full-time ministry with them for two years, learning the ins and outs of ministry. I will first and foremost be a language school student, studying French in their formal language school. I will also be working on campus, helping with their summer and winter camps, and doing different evangelistic events, church ministry, and discipleship.

About

I was raised in a home that loved Jesus and clearly communicated the gospel with me from a young age. I grew up in church, but never really considered missions or ministry as something that I could actually be a part of. I admired people who did full-time ministry but it seemed so far away from reality. I understood that Jesus had died for my sins and rose again three days later, but I didn't live as if that incredible work of Christ was important.

I came to the Bible Institute and I very distinctly remember our Missions Conference during my first year. I walked around the dining hall and collected different papers and pamphlets from all types of ministries. As I walked back to my dorm, I remember telling my roommate, "This is so crazy! I've never actually had opportunities to do missions work so clearly presented to me!" During my second year I went to Quebec, Canada for a Reverb (an overnight evangelistic event). During this night I had a conversation that opened my eyes to the brokenness of the people in Quebec. I heard one of the staff members talk more about the spiritual darkness of Canada, Quebec in particular. I very clearly heard the Holy Spirit saying, "I need you to pay attention to this." After seeking much counsel, I decided CCI was an awesome way to get involved in Word of Life's ministry in Quebec for a couple years!
