Hi, I'm Cassia Wilson. I minister in Taiwan.
In Taiwan, my main ministry will be as a teacher in their English-speaking program, SYME. I will also be living with the girls who are in the program, so I will be running dorm devos with the girls as well. I hope both positions will help me to get to know and bond with the girls, and lead to good evangelism and discipleship conversations. I will also be helping with SYME chapels, their Momentum day camps that run throughout the year, and other tasks that need to get done.

The Lord used my dad to lead me to Christ at a young age. Throughout my schooling, I very much looked the part of a good, Christian kid, but it wasn't until I went to Word of Life Bible Institute that I really started to understand the why behind a lot of the things Christians are supposed to do. My two years at the Bible Institute helped me grow my faith and deepen my relationship with the Lord.
I first started to consider missions in my last year of high school. In one of my classes, we were talking about the schooling system in countries in West Africa and how, because of French colonization, it is not a system that is built for the success of its students. I desired to help those students so much that I changed my major in college to teaching English as a second language. During my time at the BI, I realized how well that desire lines up with missions, and that more than their need for a school teacher, these students needed someone to teach them the Gospel. Along with that, being deeply involved in ministry for two years changed my perspective on life after schooling. I don't just want to do a job and work in the church on Sundays. I want to be involved in ministry for the rest of my life, no matter what I do. These two desires led me to apply for Word of Life's Cross-Cultural Internship (CCI), and after going on a missions trip to Taiwan through WOL, I felt the Lord was calling me to that area. I loved the people and the culture and the food, but most of all I loved their ministry. They focus on long-term relational ministry, which was such a different experience, and their main program is an English teaching one. I am so excited to see how the Lord will use me, what He will teach me, and how He will grow me in these next two years!
