When I was 18 years old, I trusted in the Person and work of Jesus Christ. Before this, I lived an indulgent lifestyle living to please myself. Growing up I was involved in church, Bible studies, and many other church activities but truly never understood or believed the gospel. Throughout my teen years, I was living for myself and this world only to find out there was no hope in anything I was searching for. Fortunately, I came to a breaking point when I was 18 and thought back to what I was taught. It was at this time in my life that I came to faith in Jesus.
Originally, I never imagined myself in full-time ministry, but this all changed in September of 2016 when I went on my first mission trip. God used this to direct me to ministry. In January of 2018, I answered this calling by moving to the Philippines full-time, entering a language school, beginning to learn the culture, and serving in the local church.
I entered the Bible Institute in June of 2018. My experience was unforgettable! I not only learned what I believed but why I believed it. As I studied and served, my heart for God's word and discipleship grew immensely. I graduated in July of 2022 and was invited back to serve full-time, I couldn't see myself anywhere else but Word of Life Bible Institute discipling students.
As a missionary pastor’s kid, I have always been involved in church ministry work, which exposed me to the gospel even at an early age. I accepted and professed Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior back when I was still 6 years old and continued to be actively involved in the church planting and pioneer work of my parents. As someone who grew up in a Christian home and school, I could say I still struggled a lot with my faith. But the Lord is good, for He enabled me to grow and mature in faith in Him. Eventually, in high school, I had a better understanding of the transforming power of the gospel and began to share the good news with people around me.
My deep curiosity about God's word compelled me to study in a seminary for two years before I transferred to a large and very liberal university, where I could say my faith and relationship with the Lord were put to the test. Seeing the reality outside my sheltered Christian upbringing was truly life-changing. Though I was exposed to conflicting views, the things I learned in Bible School and the guidance from my parents helped me withstand temptations and be steady in my faith and in doing God’s work. In my years at university, I found a home in a Christian student organization that trained and equipped me to live as salt and light on a campus with diverse beliefs and a distorted perception of who God is.
After graduation, I worked as a freelance graphic and fashion designer and then served at Word of Life Philippines as a Camp Coordinator in 2024, where I met my husband, and am now serving together with him at Word of Life Bible Institute Philippines. I am grateful for the work of the Holy Spirit that continuously transforms me to be more like Christ, the one who redeemed me and enables me to be used to His greater renown.
