Hi, we're Dennis and Ange Owino Obiero. We minister in Kenya.
We are Dennis & Ange Owino Obiero, Word of Life Local Church Missionaries in Kenya.
Our passion is to help local churches develop vibrant youth ministries through evangelism, discipleship and leadership development. Our greatest joy is seeing adults in the local church become more effective as true disciplers of youth.
Learn more about the ministry in Kenya.
I am Dennis Owino Obiero, popularly known as Prince, born and raised in Baba Dogo, Nairobi, Kenya. I gave my life to Christ during a New Year’s Eve concert in 2008/2009 at a local church in Baba Dogo, marking the beginning of my personal journey of faith and transformation. Although I had been exposed to Christian teachings through Sunday school, it was at this point that I committed my life fully to God.
In 2012, shortly after graduating from college and while working for a technology company, I began sensing God’s call to full-time ministry. I was later introduced to Word of Life through a day camp in one of Nairobi’s informal settlements, and the ministry’s impact and the example of its staff greatly inspired me. After relocating to Ukunda, I felt led by the Holy Spirit to Word of Life in 2017 while searching for a local church and an opportunity to serve.
Since joining Word of Life, I have pursued ministry training through the Short-Term Bible School at the Diani facility, followed by a full scholarship to study at Word of Life Africa Bible Institute in Uganda, where I graduated. I also completed the Word of Life Missionary in Training program in Kabete, which prepared me for full-time missionary service. In addition, I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology from National Theological College and Graduate School in Uganda, graduating in 2025. My journey continues to be guided by a deep commitment to serving God, equipping others, and faithfully fulfilling His call upon my life.
I was born into a Christian family in Rwanda and raised by my mother alongside my three siblings after the loss of our father during the 1994 Rwanda Genocide. Although I grew up attending church and knew how to pray, I later realized that I was living a double-standard life and had not truly surrendered my life to Christ. At the age of 15, after hearing the Gospel preached from Romans 6:23, Galatians 5:19–21, and Romans 10:9, I recognized my need for a Savior and personally accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.
In 2016, I attended the one-year program at Word of Life Africa Bible Institute in Uganda, where I experienced significant spiritual growth and received training in Bible study, Quiet Time, Scripture memorization, and community service. During a missions conference, I was challenged through Romans 10:14–15 and Matthew 28:19–20 to become a willing servant of Christ. When an opportunity arose to serve as a missionary in Rwanda, I responded to God's call during the Missionary in Training Conference.
I later earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology from National Theological College and Graduate School in Uganda, graduating in 2025. During my missionary training in Uganda, I met Dennis, and our friendship eventually led to marriage. Today, we serve the Lord together in Kenya, committed to sharing the Gospel, discipling others, and faithfully following wherever God leads us.
