About Dennis

My name is Dennis Owino Obiero popularly known as Prince. Born and bred in Baba Dogo slum in Nairobi Kenya. I became a believer at the 2008/2009 New Year’s Eve concert in a local church in Baba Dogo. I used to live a life that is not pleasing to God though I knew He existed due to my early Sunday school teachings. I first sensed the call to full time ministry in 2012 just after my college graduation and was working with a certain tech-company. I came to know about Word of Life in a day camp in one of the slums in Nairobi. Most of the staff members lived close to where I grew up and that motivated me a lot. God called me to work with Word of Life in the year 2017 after relocating to Ukunda and the Holy Spirit directed me to WOL because I was searching for a local church and a place where I can volunteer. Since I joined, I have been through short term Bible School in the Diani facility then later I got a full scholarship to attend Word of Life Africa Bible Institute in Uganda where I gratuated. I later attended Word of Life Missionary in Training in Kabete which ushered me to become a full time missionary.

About Ange

I was born into a Christian family in Rwanda. Our mother raised the 4 of us because our father died in the Rwanda Genocide in 1994. My "Christian life" was meaningless because I lived a double-standard life. I knew how to pray and went to church every Sunday and I thought that I was saved. When I was 15 years old and in high school, a preacher visited our school and shared the gospel from Romans 6:23, Galatians 5:19-21, and Romans 10:9 I realized that I am a sinner who needed Jesus. I gave my life to Christ as my personal Savior and my desire was to live a righteous life. In the year 2016, I had an opportunity to attend a one year school at Word of Life Africa Bible Institute in Uganda. It was such a meaningful time in my life. I grew spiritually, learned how to do Quiet Time, memorize scripture, Bible study and community service. During the missions conference, we were challenged by Romans.10:14-15, Matthew 28:19-20 about being ready servants to go wherever the Lord would lead us and that day I was convicted to be a ready servant. The ultimate decision was made when there was a need for missionaries to Rwanda and during the missionary in training conference I made the decision to become a missionary in Rwanda. I met Dennis while in Uganda for the Missionary in Training and our encounter led to our marriage a few years later and now we are serving together in Kenya.

2 Timothy 2:2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
