Hi, I'm Duncan Robertson. I minister in Nicaragua.
In Nicaragua I will be helping with Bible Clubs, Event organization, Evangelistic ministries, and, as I learn Spanish, discipleship!

Hello There! Heres an abbreviated version of my testimony so you can get to know a little about me!
I grew up in a Christian home, my parents raised me and my siblings to know and love God and His Word. I accepted Christ as my savior when I was 6-7 years old but it wasn't until much later that I truly began to live my life for Him. From then until my late teens I did not really commit to my relationship to God. I was apathetic and not committed to spiritual disciplines. I would have times of consistency in things like prayer and time spent reading the Bible but it was inconsistent. I struggled with various sins and though I knew I needed to change I never put in any real effort. This went on for many years until early 2020 I went on a mission trip with my dad through my local church to Kenya. My parents had been praying about moving back overseas, they had been missionaries in South Korea when I was born, so we explored Kenya as an option and ended up deciding God was calling us to move there. At that point I realized that I needed to become more serious about my faith. But I didn't. We moved to Kenya in January of 2023 after support raising. Initially we were on tourist visas so we had 6 months there before we would need to return to the states to renew them or change to a work visa. Those first few months were some of the hardest of my life. I was not relying on God for strength and direction so I felt lost and hopeless. I knew that I needed to change but I was still too apathetic and proud to take the steps to do so. Near the end of our time I finally got to the point where I was ready to turn to God. It was during those last few weeks and the months that followed that I decided to attend the Word of Life Bible Institute. I knew that I needed help to build spiritual disciplines and my knowledge of the Lord and I knew that Word of Life would be a good place to find that knowledge and accountability. God taught me so much and brought me so much closer to Him during my two years there than I had ever been.
While there I learned about Word of Life's Cross Cultural Internship and I felt God calling me to apply. I chose Nicaragua as my location because I was able to go there during my second year at WOL and saw the need that is there. I am so excited to see how God will use this opportunity in my life and the lives of others!
