About Eunju

I grew up attending church and heard much about God and the gospel. However, I did not understand what it meant to have a personal relationship with God. Therefore, I didn’t have purpose, motivation, and hope in my life. The hopelessness and emptiness I experienced even led me to suicidal thoughts.

When I was 18 years old, I attended Word of Life Summer Camp in Jeju and saw the joy of the staff who were serving there. This led me to enroll as a student at Word of Life Bible Institute Jeju in 2019. As I studied the Bible, I came to realize that although I knew about God, I did not truly understand what it meant to have a personal relationship with Him. Yet God graciously revealed Himself to me, especially through quiet time and His Word. During that season, the truth that Jesus died on the cross and rose again for my sins became a reality in my life.

The gospel became my hope, and having a relationship with God gave me a deeper thirst to know Him and seek Him more. I also experienced the fullness of hope, joy, peace, and gratitude. This led me to pursue a second year at Word of Life New York, but because of COVID-19 in 2020, I returned home after completing my first year.

Three months later, my family learned that my older sister had pancreatic cancer, and I spent much of my time caring for her in the hospital. During that season, God taught me about the meaning of life through Ezekiel 37, John 1:1, John 14:6, and Hebrews 4:12. Through these verses, I realized that Jesus is the only life and came to understand the power of His Word. He also led me to dedicate my life fully to Him.

By God's grace, my sister recovered, and He faithfully opened doors for me to continue pursuing Him and serving Him and His people in various ways. After serving for two years at WOL Jeju and in my local church, I had the opportunity to return to Word of Life New York as a second-year student, study Biblical Counseling at Davis College, and receive training as a Biblical Counseling Intern in New York. As I continued to study His Word, God helped me gain a deeper understanding of the gospel, and He placed a desire in my heart to serve His people as a missionary in Korea.

Jesus has completely transformed my life from hopelessness and emptiness to a life filled with hope and joy. God's faithfulness continually leads me to live each day as if it were my last, knowing that Jesus alone is my hope and my life. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to share this hope with you.

"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God[b] may be complete, equipped for every good work." - 2 Timothy 3:16-17 -
