Ministry Description

My responsibilities in Quebec will involve learning the French language, the culture of Quebec, and ways we can see it evangelized. With Word of Life, I will also be working with their music department on campus, helping lead worship through song in their chapels and camps, and I will be investing into the lives of the Bible Institute students in Quebec. Fun fact: In Quebec, high school ends at 16 years old, so that means there are 16-17 year old students who come to the Bible Institute!

About Ethan

I was born in Tennessee in July of 2003, but my family moved down to Florida when I was 4. At 9 years old, I was visiting some family in Tennessee and they took me to VBS. This was where I heard the Gospel, and asked some family friends how I could accept this message while on the way to my house. They walked me through a prayer and explained the ABC's of salvation, and that was the moment I believed in Jesus Christ as Lord! Here I believe I was forgiven of all my sins and made a new creation! I got baptized at my home church 3 months later.

I felt called to full-time vocational ministry when I was 15 years old. I was heading back from a youth retreat with my youth group, and I felt this call to be a preacher of the Gospel. I shared with my youth pastor, and continued on in high school being discipled by him. I ended up making the choice to go to Word of Life Bible Institute for two years (the first in Florida, the second in New York). While in Florida, I got to serve on the Overflow Worship Band playing bass and singing. It was quite an amazing and growing opportunity to learn about what worship truly looks like in all areas of one's life.

I have spent this past 2023-2024 academic year serving on our traveling alumni band: Overflow Legacy. We traveled the US sharing the Gospel and connecting with schools and churches about the ministry of Word of Life, including our local church ministries, camps, and Bible Institute.

This year, I am beginning the Cross Cultural Internship program with Word of Life. I have become burdened by the need for the Gospel in Quebec, Canada, and want to see it evangelized. This is a great program to help me get involved in the country through working at the Word of Life campus there.

John 15:4–5 (NKJV): 4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. 5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
