Hi, I'm Fortunate Oyugi. I minister in South Africa.
As a full-time missionary with Word of Life in South Africa (WOLZA), here are my responsibilities. I disciple girls in the community and girls in our discipleship training program. I also facilitate small group discussions during Youth leaders trainings as it is our goal to train as many youth leaders as possible. On a daily basis I assist in the office with the behind the scenes stuff that are necessary for the running of the organization and that is the administration department. The scope ranges from answering calls, to compiling the statistics for each weekly ministry and filing paperwork and sending in finance and statistics reports to the head office. On Thursdays and Fridays afternoon during the school term, I am involved with kids ministry and teenage youth. I lead a small group of 7 to 15 girl students that I disciple. I am part of Short-Term Missions Trips to Zimbabwe, Children’s and Teen’s one day events, camps, and Evangelism programs.

MY LIFE BEFORE TRUSTING CHRIST…
I grew up in a Christian home in Zimbabwe, for so many years I tried to earn salvation by my own works (praying, fasting and by being a good person) but all to no avail. All this satisfied for a while but couldn’t stand the test of time. I was saved at the age of about 10 when I realized I could not be good enough or do enough good deeds. Still, I continued practicing these religious activities I still knew that something was missing. I thought of how much I was lost in religion, having a form of godliness but without a real relationship with the Lord. In 2009 I rededicated my life to the Lord and in 2013 I was privileged to attend a one year Bible College with Berean Bible Institute in South Africa (BBISA) in association with the Word of Life Discipleship Training Center (DTC) in South Africa.
HOW MY LIFE HAS CHANGED.
That year the Lord graciously changed my worldview as I learned about God’s character and my relationship with Him grew. By God’s grace after a year of intense Bible study, I accepted the offer to intern with WOLSA for the next year. During my internship, the Lord grew my heart for the ministry. I came to agree with Paul in his letter to the Romans when he said, “How, then can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?” (10:14).This verse has been my conviction and now I desire to impact the children, teens, young girls and ladies with the gospel of Christ. I came back in 2015 to become a Word Of Life South Africa staff missionary. In 2016-17, I was able to further my studies at Word Of Life Africa Bible Institute (WOLABI), where I met my husband and I am thankful for His continued guidance. My goal is to help people move from religion into a deeper meaningful relationship with our Father through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
