Ministry Description

This spring, I have the privilege of going on a short-term missions trip to Taiwan! This trip is part of a Spring Semester course every sophomore student takes at Word of Life Bible Institute. Instead of only learning about missions in the classroom, students get to raise support and participate in missions around the world alongside Word of Life missionaries. WOL Taiwan uses English as a tool to reach people in Taiwan with the Gospel. They run a one-year school program called SYME using the Bible to teach English to students while also discipling students and involving them in ministry. Additionally, the have English Cafe's aiming to help locals practice English while also giving them a chance to hear the Gospel as relationships are built. They are also branching out into new ministry fields such as digital media, Mandarin-speaking ministries, and local churches. On this unique trip, every person will be paired with a Taiwanese student for the sake of language help, evangelism, and encouragement. This trip will include a day of worship and prayer for Taiwan, a day of caring for Taiwanese people, a day of sharing our faith with them, and then a day where we take those three things and apply them deeper in our own personal lives. This will be accomplished through street evangelism, Bible club ministry, participating in the daily activities of SYME, and English Café ministry.
