About Joe

Growing up I thought that I was Christian because I was born into it and I went to church on Sunday and youth group once in a while. Until my senior year of high school that is when I started to really ask what being a Christian is about. I have always had a passion for being in the kitchen, since I was young I was trying to cook as many things as I could learn to cook. i wanted to go to school for it after I graduated high school. In the summer of 2013, I went to Word of Life Inn and the conference center to work in the kitchen. During that summer God got a hold of my heart and I put my faith Christ and what he did on the cross for me. I started to seek a relationship with him. Over the next few years, I had learned how to serve God through work in kitchens, and in the summer of 2017, I was presented with an opportunity to go serve in Japan working in the kitchen of the School of Youth Ministry in English (SYME) Japan. While I spent time in prayer over it and ask some elders in the church to pray with me about it, I decided to pursue that opportunity. After starting to take steps I continued to see God provide the way. During my first year in Japan God showed me the needs of Asia for the gospel and the hope it brings. Now I am following Gods call to go and make disciples who go and make more disciples.

Colossians 1:10 "so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;" (ESV)
