Ministry Description

Hey, we’re Jake and Em and we work with Word of Life Taiwan.

You’ve probably seen the sticker “Made In Taiwan” before. Taiwan, despite being written on hundreds of products we encounter every day is still a relatively unknown nation to many Americans. Taiwan is full of highly educated, affluent people and would be considered a developed nation. We minister to the wonderful Taiwanese who are ensnared in the religious and cultural trappings of East Asian religion.

Our vision is to carry the message of Jesus to the Taiwanese people! We love this little island with all of our hearts and want to see Word of Life ministries spreading to reach the 24 million Taiwanese who Jesus loves more than we ever could. We are currently in the process of adopting a Taiwanese child as well! Please pray that she will join our family soon.

We work in the role of Field Coordinator, helping craft the vision and direction of the ministries here while shepherding an amazing incredible staff!

We both also have a huge passion for storytelling and a desire to connect the East to the West. In 2019 we launched Pilgrimage Films. Pilgrimage Films is a media team using story-telling to make the Bible come alive and tackle tough ideas like Chinese Folk Religion. We strive to make faith-based content for students and families. We launch new episodes weekly on our Youtube channel in both English and Chinese. These videos are designed to tackle the complex religious issues of Taiwan, as well as share the missionary lifestyle. We hope you can follow along on the missionary journey with us!

About Emily

Born and raised in Florida. Em is a lover of the sun and all things ocean. Loves tea. You can usually find her going on some wild outdoor adventure and paddle-boarding some waves. Also loves to write and if not in her journal, it will be on the blog. Graduated from Liberty University with a Bachelors in Bible and Theology. We have a Japanese Bobtail named Marceline you need to come and meet!
