Ministry Description

Through the Cross Cultural Internship (CCI) I will be spending two years in Panama, finishing my counseling degree online, learn Spanish, and doing ministry alongside the Word of Life missionaries! While I am in Panama I will be serving in a local church, helping with youth programs, and discipling young people. I will also be working alongside the missionaries to do camp during camp seasons and get involved with the music groups that are there. My goal is to help with property service as well!

About Kyrsten

I grew up in a home where both my parents and all my siblings love the Lord. We were in church as often as it was open, serving and doing ministry as a family. Although I heard the gospel, I did not understand my personal need for a savior until I was fifteen. It was at fifteen that my sister was sent home from the mission field and into counseling. This event shattered my world. I assumed that because my family members were all good Christians, even missionaries, that I was covered. It took my missionary sister being sent home for me to understand that I was a sinner who needed a personal savior. I put my trust in Jesus for the first time at that point. From then on I tried to live for Jesus, but it was hard. My bad choices from before I was saved continued and it seemed like life only got worse after trusting Jesus. I knew I needed to change and to get some perspective. So, after I graduated high school, I moved to New York to work at a Word of Life camp. There I saw for the first time, people being changed by the gospel right in front of me. I knew that I needed be part of sharing the life changing power of the gospel. During first and second year at the Bible Institute the Lord continued to grow my love for young people and the gospel. Throughout second year I was able to learn more about missions and the Lord used that learning to grow my desire to go into the mission field. That is when I started pursuing CCI. After going to Central America on a mission's trip and talking with the Word of Life field director in Panama, it seemed clear that the Lord was leading me to Panama. I am so excited to be used by the Lord to disciple young people and share the power of the gospel with the people of Panama!
