Ministry Description

I am in charge of Event Promotions, Media and Branding. I spend my time making graphics and videos for our events. For the teenagers of today, poor graphic design and ugly visuals can get in the way of the message you are trying to share. I believe in presenting the Gospel we want to remove as many obstacles as possible, and help to make it accessible to our audience and so I want us to advertise and present our events and the Gospel well. I also focus on promotion, contacting youth pastors about our events, building relationships with them and posting on social media so that teenagers and youth leaders know about what we have going on.

About Lance

I was brought up in a missionary family and spent my first 5 years of schooling in a house bus travelling around New Zealand and the next 8 years in Hong Kong at a Christian School before my family returned to NZ. I grew up knowing who God was and I gave my life to Him when I was 6. Through High School I never truly took my faith seriously and made a lot of mistakes with the wrong friends. God confronted me in my first year of University and through some good friends I was challenged to share the Gospel. I knew I couldn't tell others about grace I hadn't truly received for myself. I had became comfortable with sin in my life but God convicted me of this and set me free through accountability. He grew in me a love for evangelism, discipleship, and most importantly his Word, which I had always seen as a chore growing up. His grace constantly astounds me and is impossible for me to fully grasp and yet I can't help but tell others about it. I became a leader at my churches youth group and loved discipling the guys in my small group.

I didn't really know much about Word of Life but when I met with the NZ director about an internship and heard about their vision I felt God's call to say an enthusiastic "Yes!". I did an internship for a year in 2018, and have worked full time with them since then. It's a huge blessing to be involved in this ministry and help young people hear the life giving message of what Christ has done for them. I can't imagine myself doing anything else!
