Ministry Description

Skyler and I are so excited to use the gifts and tools God has graciously given us to steward in spreading the gospel. Having spent years in French speaking earlier in my life, I will get to put my French to use and continue developing it, and Skyler is excited to learn French for the first time. We will get to help the team in France with church, music, children's, camp, and sports ministries. We will get to work with refugees from Africa, and the Middle East, and periodically host refugees as well as visiting missionaries, pastors, camp speakers, and youth leaders in the cute, little home we will be living in.

Serving two years in France will also be instrumental in our future ministry goals! We desire to continue into long term ministry in French speaking Africa.

Thank you for reading and we hope you will join our journey to France!

About Marcus

I was blessed to grow up in Florida in a home with parents who love the Lord. When I was six years old, I understood that my sin separated me from a holy God and I did not want to be separated from Him eternally. I put my faith in Christ for salvation then, but it wasn't until my early adolescence that it clicked that God wanted a personal relationship with me that would mold me more and more into the image of His Son for His glory. I recall my excitement back when I was thirteen, buying my ESV Ryrie study Bible I have today and starting to read and study God's Word in detail like I never had before. My teenage years were a rollercoaster of wanting to do my own thing and God graciously bringing me back to my true purpose in following Him.
When I was about nine and ten years old, my parents were appointed missionaries to Togo, West Africa, to build the first Christian radio station in the north of Togo. This began a wonderful journey of living and traveling overseas with my family and witnessing God work in different cultures. It was such a joy to see and hear of people who have never heard of Christ be so open to the gospel, but also heavy to watch some people be so close-minded because of their religious upbringing and family ties and pressure. These experiences in my life have impacted me and grown my desire to reach these people who have never heard of Jesus and desperately need the truth.
The last four or so years of my life have been huge in my growth in Scripture and my relationship with God and I am so thankful for it. I had the opportunity to invest two years at the Word of Life Bible Institute. This period helped me set in stone my convictions and gave me a new appreciation for all God has done and a desire to treat the hermeneutics of Scripture with great care. I am now married to my amazing, kind, caring wife and best friend and we look forward to our future life and ministry God has in store for us.

About Skyler

I grew up in a small town in the Texas desert. I have one older sister and four younger sisters. Yes, six girls! My dad was a pastor and I was homeschooled. All four of my grandparents have been and are still in ministry. When I was seven, I realized my need for a savior and knew that without Jesus I would not make it in life. Throughout my teenage years I had several people dear to me pass away and it was really hard to understand death and grief, but Jesus remained my rock. At fifteen I went to Africa for the first time and since then, I have been to six African countries and Israel. I was a missionary for three years between the age of 17-20. Two of those years were with Life Action where I was a children’s minister on one of the road teams! My last year in full time ministry, I was a summer youth intern at a near by church and then went to Zambia for the school year where I taught Bible at a learning center in the bush!
I developed a lot of health issues around seventeen and I’m continuing to discover some of the roots of it all. I am sure I have a few autoimmune disorders, so everyday is an invisible battle but God is so good and faithful to sustain me.
I first fell in love with Africa when I was fifteen and my love and passion for the people of Africa has only grown since!
After Zambia I came to Word of Life where I attended their Bible Institute. I spent one year in Florida and my second year in upstate New York. I met my now husband while we were in Florida but we started dating December of our second year. By the following April, we knew we wanted to get married and do long term missions!
We decided to pursue the Cross Cultural Internship program and go to France. There are many reasons why this program is a wise next step and we are so encouraged by how God has opened the doors so far.

"But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light." - 1 Peter 2:9
