Ministry Description

I am going to Atibaia, Brazil! Atibaia is a municipality located in Sao Paulo, a province in southern Brazil and home to well over a hundred thousand individuals, many of whom endure poor living situations, resulting in broken homes and sometimes traumatized youths in need of Christ's compassion. There I will gave the opportunity to work at a Children's and Teens relief Center, help run Bible Studies several times a week, teach English classes, and tutor. I will have the opportunity to build relationships with the youth there, and engage in evangelism and discipleship!

About Meredith

I have had the privilege of growing up in a family that loved and taught me about Jesus. As long as I can remember, I was in the church and learning. I knew all about who Jesus was and what He did, but the first time I remember asking Him for salvation was when I was about 7 years old. Despite my young age, I sincerely loved the Lord. However, as I grew older I didn't prioritize my relationship with Him, and so I stopped sharing Him with others and stopped growing spiritually. It wasn't until I was 15 that my relationship with Him started to change. I attended Word of Life Island for the first time and experienced the amazing connection with God that comes from spending time in His Word. When I attended Word of Life Bible Institute, I learned about how my identity in Him provides true freedom. The Lord kindled in me a desire to share this knowledge with others, and through Word of Life's mission conference, I learned about the great need the nations have for Him. One day, as I was praying for people to be sent, I was suddenly aware that there was nothing to prevent me from going (Romans 10:11-15 was very convicting!). Word of Life's Cross Cultural Internship provided me with the opportunity to go and spread the Gospel in another country for 2-3 years!

And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?" Then I said, "Here I am! Send me." Isaiah 6:8 (ESV)
