Ministry Description

Matt: I'm really thankful to serve our team as the Projects and Logistics Manager. I truly believe that God has great things in store for our ministry as we steward the property that He is given us and partner with the people that He has sent. I will be working with our team in developing future plans for our property and helping with the organization of our various ministries. It's a blessing to be involved with the Bible Clubs, Camps, and the International Groups that we are able to host. God is doing great things in Portugal and I'm blessed to be involved in it!

About Matt

At a young age I heard the Gospel presented in a church service where I grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana. I talked to my mom when we got home and she explained the Gospel to me. It was at this time I accepted Christ as my Savior and put my trust in Him. I believed that I was a sinner in need of God's grace, that Jesus had died for my sins, and that He rose again so that I might have eternal life! I have seen God working in my life ever since, as He has continued to teach me more about Himself through His Word, the Spirit, and godly friends and family. I'm thankful for how the Holy Spirit guides me and directs me as I seek to become more like Christ!

While attending the Word of Life Bible Institute in New York, I was blessed with the opportunity to go on missions trips to both El Salvador and Brazil. After my time at the Bible Institute, I continued my education at Cedarville University, where I studied Business Management. During this time I was able to return to Brazil for a summer, solidifying my desire to be a full-time missionary!

God then opened the door for me to serve in Portugal as a Cross Cultural Intern! I'm so thankful that the Lord led me to Portugal and gave me the opportunity to serve alongside our team there. I'm excited about what He is doing through our team in reaching young people with the Gospel and training up the next generation of leaders. We have the privilege of seeking to build authentic relationships, developing leaders, and mobilizing young people from around the world!

It was during the internship that I met my wife Lyndsey. We are so incredibly thankful for how God has brought us together and our desire is that our relationship will point others towards Christ. He deserves all the glory for who we are and where we are today. We're excited to continue to serve God in Portugal as a couple!

About Lyndsey

I recognized my need for a Savior when I was very young. My kindergarten teacher was faithful to share the gospel with my class, and it got me asking questions when I went home that day. I realized I was a sinner in need of a savior and that I couldn't get to heaven without trusting and believing that Christ died for me, paid for the consequences of all of my sins past, present, and future, and that he rose from the grave three days latter and is living today! Jesus became a personal part of my life that day.

When I graduated from high school there came a point where I was done living for myself and dedicated the rest of my life for the Lord. At the time I didn't really know what that specifically meant for me, but God continued to direct my steps. He led me to Word of Life Bible Institute where I spent two years learning and growing in my walk with the Lord. God continued to direct my steps; he grew within me a deep desire to do full-time ministry for the rest of my life. During my time at the Bible Institute (BI) I learned about the Cross Cultural Internship program at our annual Mission Conference and I was sold. I had an interest in missions prior to coming to the BI, but God really began to stir a passion in my heart for cross cultural ministry while at the Bible Institute. During my second year at the BI I learned so much about ministry and was able to go overseas on a missions trip to Romania and the Lord really opened up my eyes and heart to the needs in Europe. Whenever I thought about missions I never thought Europe, but God continued to direct my steps. Now, I am so excited for the opportunity to serve in Portugal and share with them how satisfying, fun, and exciting it is to live a life completely devoted to the Lord!
