Hi, I'm Miriam Timblin. I minister in South Korea Mainland.
WOLKO (Word of Life Korea) is dedicated to Every teen, everywhere hearing the Gospel from a friend. We do this through a series of outreach ministries. Bible Club which brings a team to schools to run a day camp program which consists of worship, games, Scripture memory, short message, and a sharing/ application time. Jr. SYME which brings teenagers to an intensive English only environment for a month, having classes as well as daily chapel and Quiet Time. We introduce and teach the Bible incorporated with English. We also have winter and summer camps. As for my responsibilities, during our outreach times I am usually a teacher! I teach mid to high level English for Conversation and a WRAP class (Writing, Reading and Pronunciation). Other times my job title is Administrative Assistant/ Secretary. I make schedules, help organize and create legal documents, and do whatever else is needed. I also am the contact person for volunteers and help them do the visa and/or legal documents.

Hello! I am Miriam Timblin, a missionary kid, raised in Tucson, Arizona. Growing up I heard all about Christ and what He did for me. When I was eight years old, I realized my personal need for salvation and I asked Christ to come into my life and be in control. However, being so young, I didn't understand what that truly meant until years later. God worked in my life as a young teenager, showing me that I needed Him so much more than I realized. It was at this time that I rededicated my life to Christ and His service. This led me to the decision to attend Word of Life Bible Institute in Korea (WOLBI Korea). I knew that Bible college was a place to deepen my knowledge of God’s Word and grow in my relationship with Him. While at WOLBI Korea, God opened my heart to ministry and working as a missionary. I heard a lot about SYME through my fellow classmates who had graduated from there. Later in the year, SYME staff and students came to WOLBI to tour the campus and film a promotional video. I volunteered to give part of my testimony for the video. After filming, I stayed and talked with the SYME staff. I was able to observe their close connection as a team and hear about the ministry directly from them. I walked away from that interaction with the thought, “What about SYME? What if God is calling me to this ministry?” As I accepted this call, prayed for guidance, and sought counsel, I have seen God clearly lead and open the way for me to be part of SYME Korea. I am excited to use what I have learned during my year at the Bible Institute and be part of sharing the gospel with others at SYME. I especially have a desire to work with Korean teens.
