Ministry Description

As I head back to the Philippines this time around, I will be joining the Camping Ministry. This is the ministry that runs the program, activities, and schedule for Summer Camp, as well as all of the camps that come throughout the year. Not only will I be able to serve others behind the scenes through planning, but I will also be able to create relationships with many campers and show them the love of Christ. One of my goals is to make every camper feel valued, have fun, and grow closer to Christ. Being able to serve with the other Camping Staff to bring excitement, joy, and spiritual encouragement is one of the things I look forward to the most. This team has a heart on fire for Christ, and I couldn’t be more excited to join it! It’s inspiring to see how God is at work here, and I can’t wait to be part of His mission alongside everyone.

About Morgan

I was raised in a Christian household my whole life. Since my dad is a pastor, this meant that attending church every Sunday and Wednesday was part of my weekly routine. I grew up in ministry, serving Jesus and serving others. Ever since I was young, I had a passion for serving. It was something that brought me unexplainable joy. It wasn't until I was 7 years old that I accepted Christ into my heart and life as my personal Lord and Savior. I was baptized shortly after. As years went on, I never spent time outside of church to read and study God's Word. Learning about Jesus was strictly for Sundays and Wednesdays. It just felt like a chore that I had to get done for the week. In August of 2018, I rededicated my life to Christ by reaccepting Him into my heart after the fear of not spending eternity in heaven with Him took control over me. I was then baptized again shortly after. After I rededicated my life to Christ, I finally felt confident in my faith and in the God I've been taught about my whole life. I knew that wherever He may lead me in the future, He would always be with me and never leave me. I also was finally confident that my eternity was set in place, that I'd be spending forever and ever in a place where I get to worship Jesus with every other believer without end. Fast forward about 7 years, and here we are today. Over the past few years, I have learned that my biggest passion is loving kids with the love of Christ. Being able to impact their lives and remind them that they are important and loved by the Maker of the universe is something that I am honored to be able to do. I had the privilege of ministering a week in the Philippines at WOL this past July with a group from my church. Going into this trip, I had no idea what to expect or what the plan was. I just knew I was going. And part of me loved the idea of walking into the unknown because I knew it would grow my faith in unimaginable ways. And the other part of me was terrified of what could happen. All of this is to say that God changed my life while I was in the Philippines. He created a love for missions in me I have never had before. Pouring the love of Jesus into these kids who may not have a lot of things, but are the happiest kids you'll ever meet, touched my heart. On this trip, God showed me what truly loving like Jesus looks like in the world today. He gave me a love for these kids and these people that is one I can't begin to describe. It's a love that can only come from Jesus. 1 John 4:7 says, "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God." The love of Jesus is the love I want to continue pouring onto other people. I want others to see Christ through me and the way I love. The mission trip to the Philippines helped me see the importance of living like Jesus in a world that turns farther and farther away from Him every single day. After I got back home, God never took away my passion and love for the Philippines and the people there. After months and months of prayer, I knew that God was calling me back to the Philippines. I was at complete peace and knew that God would open doors wherever He wanted me. Praise the Lord for His guidance and direction as I head into this new unknown. God truly does work in miraculous ways. My four months spent in the Philippines were the greatest four months of my life. Through prayer and confirmation, I believe He’s calling me back to continue the mission He began there — to serve, to share His love, and to walk alongside the incredible people who have already impacted my life so deeply. I’m stepping out in obedience, ready to see how He will move next. He has put a fire in my heart for the people of the Philippines, one that only grew stronger as I spent more time there. I couldn’t be more eager and excited to head back and continue walking in the purpose God has for me in this next season of my life. Here we are again. Lord, Here I am. Send me. All glory to God!

Philippians 4:6-7 "Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus."
