Learn more about the ministry in Mexico.
I was born in Cuba, in a family of non-believers. At a stage in my youth, while I was studying my professional career, my home went through several family conflicts. This brought a number of difficult situations to my life and led me to question the meaning and purpose of life, however, it was those circumstances of vulnerability that God used to open my eyes to the message of the gospel, showing Christ as my Savior. There in my church, the Lord provided me with excellent friends who were instruments of Grace in my life, together with some of them, I began to get involved in serving young people and in the area of Missions.
In 2005 at a Summer Camp I met Yadira, who also had a deep desire to serve the Lord and seek His direction. We got married in 2007 and together we got involved serving in her local church, supporting youth service and in some local missions that our church had. By God’s grace, the Lord has given us 18 years of marriage and two children, Erick Daniel and John David. One of the ways in which I was also able to serve the Lord for several years was through the ministry “Solid Rock - Climbers for Christ”. In 2013, at a conference of this ministry in Cuba, I received an invitation to travel to Mexico and support in the area of Extreme Adventure at a Word of Life camp. I was able to travel to Mexico in 2015 and it was there that the Lord began to stir my heart to delve deeper into His Word, so in 2018 we moved as a family to this beautiful country. My wife and I set aside three years to attend Bible Institute, it was a time of great blessing and personal challenge. Later we saw how the Lord was marking steps to follow until we became involved as full-time missionaries within the Word of Life ministry. It is here where the Lord has called us to invest our time, effort and passion. Pray for us as we serve our good God in this great country.
I was born in Cuba. I first heard the gospel in small missions that are done in the neighborhoods to reach children, so I began to participate in classes at church, and at the age of nine a teacher asked me if I had received Jesus in my heart and I answered no. At that moment she explained the plan of salvation to me, teaching me the meaning of Christ's saving work on the Cross... this is what I needed, Salvation and New Life!
From that moment on my life began to change, learning from God, they taught me little by little the meaning of this decision and the importance of being light, especially in my family and friends who are not Christians. With the passage of time God keeps me from many experiences that I had as a youth and allows me to enjoy a close relationship with Him, reading His Word and growing...
I thank God because He is faithful, He kept me until today, He changes me, and renews me. He has allowed me to live His forgiveness and He continues to work in my life. His love and faithfulness are immensely great.
As a family we live in Mexico today, and we have the privilege of serving at the Word of Life Bible Institute Mexico, and God continues to amaze us, setting guidelines in our lives and sustaining us in His faithfulness.
