When I was a child, my parents often told me Bible stories and shared the gospel and I accepted Jesus as my Savior.
I wanted to be a pastor when I was a kid but I felt that someone like me did not deserve to be a pastor so I changed my direction.
I had a unique opportunity during my military service from ages 20 to 22. During that time, I was trained by a Korean pastor and seminary professor in missions and he introduced me to SYME, an English Bible school and a ministry of Word of Life.
After military service, I attended SYME. I came with only enough money for two months because I did not expect to stay long. However, while I was there, I felt a strong calling to become a missionary. I called my mother, and she told me that this would not be an easy life and that there would be suffering. Although she was concerned, we decided to pray together. The next morning, my Quiet Time was in Romans 8:18, and at the same time, my mother sent me a message with the same verse. I was encouraged by God's word and began to pursue being a missionary.
I was trained and studied with Word of Life for six years(2008-2013) and officially became a missionary in 2013.
I was born in pastor’s family and through my parents sharing the gospel, I believed in Jesus from a young age. I trusted that Jesus died for me, rose again and gave me salvation.
My father was loving but strict about our faith. Because our church was small, I had many responsibilities, such as playing the piano, teaching, and leading worship. Over time, I became tired and sometimes envious of my friend's churches, larger churches. It was especially difficult when some people disrespected my father. Eventually, several members left and our church began to fall apart. During that time, I blamed God and could not understand why this was happening to my family.
In college, I struggled in my faith and did not want to go to church. After graduating, I attended a discipleship training school (DTS). There, I brought my burdens to God and sincerely sought Him. As I prayed and spent time with Him each day, I began to understand His love. I was surprised that His love for me had never changed, even when I was confused and hurting.
After encountering God in a personal way, my life changed. I was filled with joy and gratitude, even in difficult situations. Instead of complaining, I began to trust God and focus on His Word.
Now, I am serving together with David in His mission.
