Life Before Knowing Christ as My Savior
I was blessed to grow up in a Baptist home where faith was central to our lives. From a young age, I attended Sunday school, learned Bible stories, and often heard the message of salvation. While I intellectually understood these teachings, they remained just that—teachings. I believed in God's existence, but my faith was more of a routine than a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
The Turning Point
At 17, during one of the lowest points in my life, the truth of Christ’s sacrifice became real to me. In my brokenness, I realized that Jesus Christ didn’t just die for the world—He died for me. My sins, no matter how small I had considered them, had separated me from God. Yet, in His great love, He bore my punishment so that I could be reconciled with Him.
It was through John 1:12 (KJV) that I came to understand God's invitation to become His child:
"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name."
At that moment, I surrendered my life completely to Him, placing my faith fully in His grace and accepting Him as my Savior and Lord.
God further assured me of my eternal security through John 10:28-29 (KJV):
"And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand."
Life After Salvation
Two years later, at 19, I publicly declared my faith through baptism. From that moment on, my walk with the Lord deepened as I joined a pioneering mission church. Serving in ministry ignited a passion in me to share the gospel, and in His perfect time, the Lord called me to take this mission beyond my home—to Indonesia.
Looking back, I see how God has been shaping my life from the very beginning, preparing me for His calling. His grace is sufficient, His plans are perfect, and I am grateful to walk in obedience to His will.
Throughout my journey, I have held onto Romans 12:1-5 (KJV) as my life verses:
"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."
I am humbled and grateful for the privilege to serve Him, knowing that we, as one body in Christ, are called to fulfill His purpose together.
