After taking a break in 2023 due to the elections, this Healthcare Team is going back to Liberia in 2024! Healthcare Ministry: • Our intent is to provide the finest healthcare possible to the poorest and neediest people in the world. • Team of volunteer healthcare professionals using their abilities to help the helpless.
Evangelistic Ministry: • The Gospel will be shared with every person we treat. • The goal is to treat and share the Good News with over 500 people on the trip. • Word of Life Liberia is passionate to train up youth to reach their generation with the Good News of the Gospel!

Travel
Trip Details: • Flying into Monrovia, Liberia (ROB). [tickets about $1,500 – round trip, not included in the trip cost] • Team will be staying within an hour from ROB international airport. • Healthcare Clinics will be held in Disco Hill. • Yellow Fever, Malaria, & Typhoid immunizations & vaccinations required. • Leaving USA on 10/12/2024 and arriving in Liberia on 10/13/2024. • Leaving Liberia on 10/20/2024 and arriving in the USA the same day, due to a mere 4-hour time zone difference.
Visa
The Liberian visa is obtainable through advance application only. More details will be provided to team members closer to the time of the trip, as they tend to change slightly from year to year. The cost has historically been about $160. [not included in the trip cost]
Food
We will eat a mix of Liberian and American-style meals throughout the week.
Housing
Location: • Liberia, West Africa • Africa’s oldest independent nation • Established by freed slaves from United States in 1847 • 75% of population under 25 years of age. Housing • Staying with our missionaries in Liberia. • We will not have A/C, but will have fans at night.

We will be traveling in West-African style: slow and patiently:)

Like all of our trips, Word of Life requires each team member to have a background check within 12 months of the trip. This is part of the application process and costs $12 (not included in trip costs). Team Members: • MDs, PAs, DOs, NPs • nurses • pharmacist • chiropractors • dentists • ministry-minded servants Required immunizations, vaccinations & medications: Yellow Fever Vaccination, Malaria Medication, & Typhoid Vaccination (not included in trip cost)

About the Finances
Application cut-off deadline August 16th, 2024. (8 weeks prior to trip) Trip cost of $900 due before August 16th, 2024. (8 weeks prior to trip. This allows us to get the funds to our missionaries with enough time for them to prepare the trip.) $900 trip cost includes housing, food, in-country transportation, emergency medical insurance, and a small contribution towards medications/supplies. Trip cost does not include international airfare, visa, and background check.
