Until we have housing at the camp we'll be using a hotel in the capital about 25 minutes from the camp property. There are incredible ministry opportunities for your construction mission group when you serve on a Belize mission trip. This small country is the only country in Central America where English is the official language, so it will be easy for you to communicate directly with the local community members. Word of Life Belize recently acquired 25 acres of undeveloped land full of large palm trees at the foot hills of a national park rain forest. It is a place of God's beauty surrounded by a majestic landscape! We need skilled laborers to build cabins, build restrooms/showers, build sports complex, dining halls, meeting halls, landscaping, walkways and more. Construction mission trips are vital to fulfilling the Great Commission.
We mobilize volunteers to use their skills, talents, and time in construction projects that will further God’s kingdom in Belize. Word of Life Belize vision is to begin land development to host camps, conferences and discipleship centers that will share the life changing message of Jesus to teens, children and their families. We also dream for the camp to be a place where Belizeans will be equipped with the Word of Life to reach their own generation. The goal is to house 400 campers and have a swimming pool, guest cabins for ministry teams, a large dining hall, sports complex and a conference center seating 700. This project is starting from the ground up and the perfect opportunity to get in on a long term ministry project. Construction is almost all wood so perfect for so many people to get involved.

Travel
Belize’s international airport is officially known as the Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport. All international flights to Belize arrive here. As of 2023, the Belize City airport was serviced by the following airlines: Alaska Airlines • American Airlines • Delta • JetBlue • Southwest • Sun Country* • Tropic Air • United • WestJet • Air Canada* • Copa • TAG. Some Airlines may have a seasonal schedule, usually from December to April each year.
Visa
All travelers must have a passport that is valid 6 months beyond your departure date. Most visitors, including those from the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, will NOT need a visa prior to arrival. The immigration officer will provide up to a 30-day visitor's visa. If you stay longer than 30 days, you will need to renew your visa that has a fee of $100USD. Airport fees and all Travel taxes are included in the airfare.
Food
Three main meals per day will be served to your team. These meals will be a mixture of local cuisine dishes and potentially, a few American-style dishes. Kindly help us identify team members who have allergies or dietary restrictions before the trip. At WOL we will do our best to accommodate these needs and all food and drink provided by WOL during trips is safe to eat. Purified drinking water will be provided for the team every day and for the cooks to use while preparing meals. We recommend if you have more severe dietary restrictions or allergies, that you bring along appropriate snacks.
Housing
Word of Life Belize understands the need of a goodnight rest! Your lodging will be comfortable, clean and restful. We can personalize and meet the needs of your team as soon as we connect. Housing will be in rented locations until there is a place to stay at the camp. When we have housing at the property this will reduce the trip cost in the future. The trip budget does not cover the lodging in hotel in he capital Staying at the camp reduces the cost per trip by $25 per night. The hotel rooms will be paid in Belize by each person staying in the hotel. Rooms vary in capacity and bed size. We will help you arrange these accommodations. Average charge per person is $35 per night double occupancy.

Word of Life Belize will provide transportation to/from Airport and Ministry Sites
What To Bring
Word of Life Belize Camp property is in its early stages of development. Our tools and supplies at the moment are limited. We would love to connect and explore different ways how we can partner and make this opportunity of growth a reality.
What To Wear
The climate is generally tropical, with daily weather typically averaging around 78 - 90 degrees Fahrenheit and very humid. Pronounced wet and dry seasons as consistent each year, although the intensity of these seasons varies by region within the country. We recommend sunscreen, bug spray and appropriate/comfortable clothing. Church dress code is "business/casual" (chino pants and polos for males. Skirt/blouse or dress for females.) For foot wear we recommend tennis shoes, or comfortable sandals. Don't forget your hats, caps and water bottles.
Qualifications
These work trips are designed for everyone to attend. A love for the Lord to serve and a willingness to be blessed are what we are looking for. If you can do these things, you qualify! This trip is a great one to take your whole family or church and enjoy a week. Our trip budget is in progress. Since this is our first work trip to the new property, we are exploring and requesting quotations to provide the best at an affordable cost. Trip cost covers food, lodging, in country transportation, travel insurance, $125 work funds and $75 host cost are included in the trip cost. Airfare is not included. Airfares run from $700 to $850 from the east coast depending on the time of year.
