Ministry Description

The goal in Word of Life Dominican Republic is to reach and train this next generation, so that they can reach their friends for Christ. They do this by partnering along the local church. They develop their “Youth Group” and by doing this is not only the missionaries that are working towards reaching the Dominican Republic, but they get the local church to work with us to reach that goaI.
I will be working with helping develop the “Discipleship Training Center" over there. I will be doing things such as discipleship, assisting our professors and missionaries, helping with American groups and living life withing the student body!

About Priscila

Hello, my name is Priscila I am Peruvian, and I come from a Christian family, my parents are missionaries, so I always heard from God, but I never knew what God had done for me personally. When I was 4 years old my family moved to Bolivia and over there my mom share the Gospel to me, and it was in that moment when I truly understood what God had done for me. But, since I was little there was not much spiritual growth in my life and for some sins that I had committed before, I felt far from God, and I thought I had lost my salvation. At the age of 13, I participated at the Word of Life camp in Bolivia for the first time, it was there where I dedicated my life to the Lord and when I really understood that my salvation doesn’t get lost no matter what I have done. After that day there was a change in my life since I had the desire to know God more and more, my relationship with the Lord began to grow but then Covid hit. During covid I started believing lies that the devil was whispering in my ear, I started questioning my identity and my worth which was something I struggled with before. I started to get depressed and anxious to the point that I started having suicidal thoughts, but God was good and reminded me my value, my counselor of the moment helped me reminding me that my value is that literally the creator of everything came to this world to die for me. I began believing in what God said about me and not in what the devil or others said about me, and that’s how I came out of that dark time in my life. Then I decided to go to the Bible Institute of Word of Life New York and although it was difficult God was faithful and I saw how he work in my life in so many ways. I had opportunities to do ministry and one of them was camp, where I was able to pour into girls lives and help them take their step with Jesus, it was amazing to realize that God use my past to help these girls with their struggles. In a missionary conference during my second year, I realized that I want to serve him in some way and that’s how I decided to do an internship called CCI (Cross Cultural Internship) which consists of serving in Word of Life but in another country for 2 years and I am excited about what God is going to do in my life.
