Ministry Description

My typical day is hectic; I wake up and leave my family to my wife Peace before heading to work. I jump on a boda boda to my pickup point. As soon as I get picked up, my mind starts racing through the day; I'm thinking about how to consolidate the ministry in Kayunga, Kasese, Palisa, Fort portal, and Kampala. I'm considering how to have a dignified presence in Mbarara, Gulu, Karamoja, Buikwe, Butebo, and Buliisa. I'm also thinking about how teams can work strategically in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, South Sudan, and Tanzania. In summary, I oversee the Local Church Support Ministries, which reaches out to and trains pastors as well as other church leaders throughout Uganda. These leaders are either too busy or lack the qualifications to attend Bible college so as to receive proper training.
At the core of what we do is youth ministry. We help young people deepen their faith, grow in love, and establish hope in God so that they can live as Christ's disciples.

About Robert

Born and raised in a catholic family, I grew up knowing just one thing: to be Catholic. I was obsessed with religion and at age 10, I had gone through most of the tenets of Catholicism. At the end of the term, I decided to join Catholic Seminary in Nswanjere the following year to embark on a journey to be a servant of the Holy Roman Catholic Church and a priest. During the December 1991 long Christmas break, I came to trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and savior. It was a wonderful experience as one event led to another and before I knew it, I asked my 'uncle Robert' to lead me in prayer. I can't say it was all done willingly, there were some bad feelings the kind that come when you 'brag about having a bicycle and then someone comes with Rolls Royce' and you feel literary hit hands down. No one at home ever thought I could turn from my religion so, they gave me one week, one month hoping that I would reconsider my position but God had already begun his work in me. When I went back to school for primary five, I was met with intense persecution from the school administration because I did not go to seminary as planned. This was further fuelled by the fact that I was sharing my new faith with fellow children in school. Since then, God has always put me in a position of leadership as I served Scripture Union in High School and then Christian Union on campus. Though I loved ministry, I did not envision being able to balance, work, study, and family life and so I said a prayer to God asking for a break till I was 40 years. In 2019, a friend approached me to join the Bible institute which gave me the opportunity to unlearn and learn more about the Christian Faith. It was only towards the end of 2020 that I remembered the prayer I had made, and it dawned on me that God honored my request and has now catapulted me into full-time ministry with Word of Life Fellowship Uganda. Circumstances have not changed much, I still need to balance Work, Study, and Family Life but I trust that God who has called me to this will see me through and enable me to be a vessel of honor to His Glory.

He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Romans 8:32
