Ministry Description

"To challenge youth to a life of service for the Lord, through Bible study, discipleship, and ministerial training, so that they can be integrated into the churches as a taskforce for ministry." That is our goal for all that we do. I will be part of a team in Nicaragua that seeks to reach this generation with the Gospel through local church ministry and Gospel-sharing events. In Nicaragua, I will be serving in Bible Clubs and partnering with local churches for ministry. We will also have training and retreats for churches in which we can encourage and help equip them.

About Rachel

Growing up in a Christian home I heard about the need for a relationship with Jesus, but I never really understood it until I was around nine years old. I went to a Church camp where I understood and believed that I was separated from God because of what I have done but because of His death and resurrection I could have a relationship with Him. As I got older my family and I continued to be involved with activities at our church, and I went on a few mission trips with my school. By the time I was finishing high school, I knew that I wanted to go to Word of Life Bible Institute. In my first year there, I realized through what I was learning that I was focusing my life on myself and what I wanted to do instead of focusing on how I could use my life to glorify the Lord. It was then that I decided to go to the second year. While I was there we had a class that showed us the importance of missions and gave us the experience of going on a mission trip to another country. I had the opportunity to go to Taiwan and learned so much about the need for the Gospel, not only in Taiwan but all around the world. I realized that if I could be a part of reaching the world with Jesus I needed to do it in whatever way that I could. I then had the opportunity to be a part of Australia's Cross-Cultural Internship, but after having visa issues, I am now serving with WOL Nicaragua. I will be serving with the team in Nicaragua until August 2026.
