Hi, I'm Becca Kremer. I minister in South Korea Mainland.
In 2022, I had the privilege of serving with Word of Life Korea in Pyeongtaek for two months over the summer. At that time I served as one of the English teachers for the school and helped with church youth ministries! Students at the English school (SYME) learned English while also learning about the Bible and hearing the gospel. Every morning students and teachers shared their devotionals from personal Bible reading. We also memorized scripture together, and students studied the Bible in Bible class. We got the opportunity to spend a lot of time with the students, disciple them in their faith, and point them to Christ! One of my favorite things was teaching Bible class and building relationships with the students.
I leave for Korea in April 2024 and plan on staying for six months! I will be participating in similar ministry opportunities. Other than the English school, another ministry of Word Of Life Korea is student outreach. This involves going to local middle and high schools and sharing the gospel. As part of this ministry, we also have games, worship, scripture memorization, skits, and discussion time.

Having grown up in a Christian home, I was regularly exposed to the gospel and got saved at a young age. The biggest obstacle for me was that I always considered myself a pretty good person. I had been taught that we were all sinners, but certainly some sinners were worse than others right? At least that was what I thought. I was prideful and considered myself better than others. I think part of me thought I was earning God’s favor by being a good person. It wasn’t until I understood my own sinfulness that I became saved. No matter what I thought of myself, it is God's opinion of me that matters, since it is Him I will be facing on judgment day. Romans 3:23 says "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," and Romans 3:10 states "None is righteous, no not one." James 2:10 states, "Whoever breaks one commandment is guilty of breaking them all." When I understood the weight of my sin and my need for a Savior, I repented and asked Jesus to come into my life and change me. A few years years later, around 2015 and onward, was when my faith really started to grow. Beginning in 2015, I participated in a scripture memorization program for five years during which God used His Word to shape me and bring me closer to Him.
Before 2020, I had never really been personally interested in overseas mission work. I was content to share the gospel and do ministry locally in my hometown. However, one night after a service at my church, God opened my heart to overseas missions and I became interested in doing ministry in South Korea. After God placed Korea on my heart, I started studying the language and attending a local Korean church. One thing in particular that weighed on my heart is the prevalence of suicide in Korea. South Korea has been among countries with the highest suicide rates globally for the last two decades. I want to share the gospel and the hope of Jesus Christ with Korea. Jesus said, "I came that they may have life, and have it more abundantly." I want to share this life with others and I'm excited to be a part of God's work in Korea!
