Ministry Description

We are missionaries to the River People of the Amazon. For the past 10 years we were able to help in the process of planting 1 church and stablish the leadership, as well as to start new bible study groups in other villages. We have helped in many discipleship activities and spent most of our time educating the river people and leadership in the Word of God and counseling them. It has been a challenge and a great privilege to be part of this great work and be able to be the hands and feet of Jesus. In the daily basis we are talking and sharing the gospel, in eternity we are collecting the rewards of the sacrifice of the lamb.

About Renan

I was born and raised in the deep jungles of the Amazon as a catholic and I still remember to this day when this tall man came around in a small boat picking the kids up to hear Bible stories. I was 6. It wasn't till later and after rejecting the gospel many times that I finally had a true encounter with Jesus. Through up and downs of a rough life I understood the gospel and was soon prompted to share my faith. For those who knew me and my old ways of living I was taken for a liar and reason of mockery. I kept pushing through till I shared my faith with most of my neighbors and till God called me for a greater experience. I just wanted others to experience the same a joy and redemption that I did. I started with my family, neighbors, and now I have been planted churches in other areas of the Amazon region. I got my studies at Word of Life Brazil and got married short after that to a beautiful woman that has blessed me with 3 beautiful children. As of now, we have been serving in the Amazon (among the river people) for almost 10 years. I am so thrilled to see the hands of God advancing his kingdom among the River people and I want to be part of that. I urge you to join us so God can do in the lives of many others what he did in my own. I believe in miracles, I am a miracle and I am willing to see more miracles. I grew up in a christian home in a small town in Ohio. From the time I was young I had a strong interest in missions thanks to my parents constant support of the activities at my local church and the desire to go with them on their short term trips. God really started working in my life when I went on my first short term trip to Brazil and he used the missionaries to encourage me to go and do whatever I feel God is calling me to do, all while loving him! After contact with the Brazilian people and a desire to study more of God's word, I decided to study at Word of Life Bible Institute in Belem, Brazil. There I had an eye opening experience of what missions truly is and seeing the father's heart to know me as his child. I recognized my sinful state and my need for Christ as a Savior and from then on have committed my life to growing my personal relationship with God and serving him. During the two years at the Bible Institute God allowed me to get to know a young man that I had met 5 years earlier on my first short term trip. Together we graduated from the Bible Institute and are working with Mission that brought missionaries to his village and where I had my first experience of Matthew 28:18.
