Ministry Description

I began my journey with Word of Life as an intern in the Czech Republic in 2021. In 2022, I moved to the Philippines to serve as a full-time missionary, with the goal of learning more about starting a new ministry in the Czech Republic.

During my time in the Philippines, I was actively involved in the Local Church Ministry. Word of Life Philippines partners with 66 local churches, and the ministry places a strong emphasis on youth groups, Bible studies, and training young, emerging youth leaders. Through this ministry, I was given many opportunities to grow, especially in developing my preaching and teaching skills while serving in local churches.

Currently, I am serving as a missionary with Word of Life in the Czech Republic, continuing to invest in ministry and applying what I have learned to help build and strengthen the work here. All glory to God.

About Van

My name is Van, and I come from the jungle in Myanmar. I grew up in a Christian home. When I was young, I went to church regularly and heard about the gospel, but because I was still a child, I did not fully understand what it truly meant to believe in Jesus Christ. Although I eventually put my faith in Jesus, I did not yet know how to fully place my hope in Him.

When I was 14 years old, I left my family and moved to the Czech Republic with my uncle. At that time, I was studying far away from my parents, so I could not even tell them that I was going to the Czech Republic. I have now been living in the Czech Republic for 15 years, where I have lived and studied.

I studied for about four years at a pedagogical school in the Czech Republic, and I had many plans for what I wanted to do in the future. While living there, I sometimes attended community meetings with other people from Myanmar, where we gathered to worship God. However, these meetings did not help me fully understand the gospel, and my life did not truly reflect my faith.

In 2015, I attended a summer camp. At first, my main reason for going was football, because I love football. But during that summer, everything changed. I clearly understood the gospel—that Jesus died for my sins, and that I can be saved by confessing that I am a sinner and believing that Jesus died for my sins. This truth transformed my heart and changed my whole life. After that, I studied in Hungary for two years at the Word of Life Bible Institute.
