Ministry Description

Here in Korea with Word of Life Korea (WOLKO), I serve as the Assistant Camp Director (Camp & Outreach Team), following God’s Great Commission in Matthew 28:18–20 — to go and make disciples of all nations. My role is to help lead and develop outreach-focused ministries that engage the next generation with the gospel through camps and evangelistic programs.

A key part of my ministry is planning, organizing, and systematizing all aspects of camp ministry. I work closely with the outreach team to ensure that each program clearly communicates the gospel and provides meaningful opportunities for students to respond to Christ. At the same time, I am actively researching and implementing new methods of ministry and evangelism to reach young people more effectively in today’s culture.

Here’s a bit about what I do:

Camp & Outreach Ministry: I help plan and coordinate a variety of camp & outreach programs, including street evangelism, church camps, (orphanage ministry, and North Korean defector center camps). Each ministry is prayerfully prepared with the goal of sharing the gospel and building relationships that lead to discipleship.

Creative & Translation Ministry: I serve through drama performances and sermon interpretation, using creative communication to share the truth of Christ in engaging ways.

Ministry Development: I am involved in developing new outreach strategies and improving existing systems to make our ministry more effective and sustainable.

Ultimately, my desire is to see young people in Korea and beyond encounter Jesus personally, be transformed by the gospel, and grow into faithful disciples who will impact the world for Christ.

About Aiden

I was born and raised in South Korea as a fifth-generation Christian. My family’s faith traces back to the very first missionaries who brought the gospel to Korea before the nation was divided. During my grandparents’ childhood, my great-grandfather studied theology in what is now North Korea. When the Communist regime began to persecute Christians, my grandparents fled south to preserve their faith. Because of this legacy, I grew up surrounded by the gospel and the church.

From a young age, I understood the gospel in my head, but not in my heart. In fifth grade, I attended a church retreat with a close friend who wasn’t a believer. During the retreat, I listened carefully to the gospel message so that I could share it with my friend. As I focused on the message, I came to recognize that I was also a sinner in need of that same love, and that the love of Jesus was meant for me as well. In that moment, I accepted Jesus as my personal Savior and stepped forward in faith.

After that experience, I began to ask deeper questions about life—why I was born, where I would go after death, and what purpose God had for me. As I looked around, I noticed how many of my friends had never heard about Jesus. I was especially burdened when I heard my grandparents’ stories about those in North Korea who still have no opportunity to hear the gospel because of government restrictions. I realized that something I had freely received was something many people might never encounter in their lifetime. That realization sparked my heart for evangelism and missions.

As someone who loved theater and musicals, I was amazed at how powerfully stories could communicate across languages. Even when I didn’t understand the words, I could still grasp the message. I began to dream of using creative arts as a tool to share the gospel effectively.

Later, when I prayed about attending seminary, my parents were concerned because of my past immaturity. But on the morning of the last day for college applications, during our family QT, God confirmed His calling through (Jeremiah 1:5–9). That passage reminded me that God equips those He calls. With that assurance, I stepped forward in obedience and began my journey in ministry training.

[Jer 1:6-9, KJV] 6 Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child. 7 But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak. 8 Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD. 9 Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.
