Hi, we're Daniel and Kendra Garcia Teixeira. We minister in Bolivia.
Our primary ministry is our family. We were married on March 14, 2025, and since then we have grown greatly as a couple, learning together to serve the Lord with joy and faithfulness. We currently have the privilege of participating in various ministries within Palabra de Vida and also during the weekends in the city.
• Refreshments: Kendra is responsible for preparing refreshments during the week for the students.
• Marketing: Daniel is in charge of maintaining the ministry's social media accounts, posting posters and photos of events, with Kendra's support throughout the process.
• Children's Show: We are in charge of a team of 30 people (missionaries and students) who put on a children's play. Through this, we reach out to children with presentations in schools, public squares, and churches.
• Student Service: Daniel accompanies the students in the distribution of tasks, the provision of tools, and practical teaching during the week's services.
• Student Missionary Vision: We are part of the team that organizes this special meeting with the students, where the missionary context is shared through testimonies and the Word of God, as well as times of ministerial challenge.
• General Services: We both collaborate in everything necessary for the maintenance of the property and the preparation of each event.
• "Horita Feliz": Kendra's family, together with a team of young people, leads four ministries that work with children, teenagers, young adults, and married couples in contexts of poverty and dysfunctional families. This ministry is a light in the midst of so much darkness, offering the opportunity for a life transformed by the Word of God. We remain attentive and, whenever possible, collaborate with what is within our means.
• Church: We are members of La Florida Church, which entrusted us to God's work. It is a congregation that is very dear to us and where we serve whenever we have the opportunity.
• Dental Office: Kendra is a dentist and has her own office, which we put at the service of low-income people, students, and missionaries from Palabra de Vida. In addition, we have portable dental equipment that we can easily transport to provide care in different locations. This tool allows us to be a blessing and, at the same time, share the gospel. During consultations, we work together: while Kendra treats patients, Daniel assists her.
Beyond titles or responsibilities, our greatest commitment is to serve God full-time. We pray for every opportunity He gives us to fulfill the Great Commission, and it would be a true privilege to have your support on this journey. As a family, we have many goals, all focused on expanding our ministries, trusting that God will continue to guide our every step.
Learn more about the ministry in Bolivia.
I was born in 1999 in Timóteo, Minas Gerais (Brazil), into a Christian home. My parents, Edilson and Cintia, are missionaries, and from an early age my life was marked by faith. When I was one year old, we moved to Santa Cruz de la Sierra (Bolivia) to begin missionary work. At the age of eight, when we moved to Pando, on the border with Brazil, I accepted Christ as my only and sufficient Savior.
In 2012, a flood destroyed our house and we spent a year in Brazil, in Timóteo. That time was very difficult: adapting, studying, and the culture were very hard for me. In 2014, we returned to Cobija (Pando), although I continued my studies in Brazil. There, I was the only Christian in my class, surrounded by unsaved classmates. I was exposed to parties, drugs, and temptations, and although I was living a double life—hiding my faith during the week and returning to church on weekends—God protected me because He already had plans for me.
I have always been passionate about mathematics and dreamed of becoming a civil engineer in Brazil. However, after finishing high school, we traveled to Santa Cruz, and a friend invited me to the Palabra de Vida Bolivia camp. I went just for fun, but that week transformed my life. The place, the theme “His love changed my story,” and even the Star Wars-inspired decor had a profound impact on me. There, the director, Juan Lella, reminded me of a promise I had made to my father years ago: a full scholarship to study at the Center for Evangelism and Discipleship (CED), encouraging me with his words, “Give a year of your life to God.”
I accepted the challenge and returned determined to give Him that year. At CED, I faced great challenges: I lived with 14 classmates from different cultures, the subjects were difficult for me, and I was assigned to ministry with children, even though I had neither patience nor motivation. The CED focuses on three areas—Life, Study, and Ministry—and in each one God worked in me, breaking down barriers, molding my character, and showing me my weaknesses. It was a process of tears, but also of support and growth.
In the second year, the subjects became more profound and my spiritual maturity grew. When I finished, I wondered what to do: I was 18 years old, I felt a calling to serve in the missions, but I was unsure. I tried to forget that feeling, but God insisted. My parents confirmed the call; my dad told me, “That's why we created you, to serve God.” In addition, Juan invited me to continue as a collaborator for another year, and God spoke to me through the story of blind Bartimaeus, who taught me about calling, persistence, and obedience.
I joined the team as a collaborator and learned everything from simple tasks—mowing the lawn, cleaning, painting, moving rocks—to serving in evangelism, camps, and conferences. Provision was my biggest struggle: my dad sent me 300 bolivianos a month with great effort, and God used that need to teach me dependence and gratitude.
Finally, I was commissioned by my church, La Florida, as a missionary with Palabra de Vida. Although I once dreamed of becoming a civil engineer, I understood that God's plans are better. Today I live with joy, convinced that “His love changed my story.”
Every move, difficulty, and blessing was part of God's perfect plan. What I once saw as coincidences, I now recognize as His hand guiding every step of my life.
My name is Kendra. I was born in 1999 into a family that was not Christian, but was full of love. My parents, my older sister, and I lived in a small house surrounded by fields.
When I was six years old, my mother became depressed after my uncle died in a motorcycle accident. She spent her days crying, unable to clean the house or cook, while my father reacted violently, hitting her and becoming someone I no longer recognized. My sister and I tried to stop the fights, but being so young, we couldn't do anything, and many times we were also beaten.
In the midst of that darkness, God made himself present. My dad gave my mom a New Testament, which became her only comfort. She began to seek God, met a missionary couple, and was invited to a Christian church. At that stage, she gave her life to Christ and encouraged us to follow him. For me, it was like discovering a new world. However, my father opposed it and even locked us in the house to prevent us from going to church, reacting violently if we insisted. My sister and I, instead of getting involved in the fights, began to pray, and miraculously the shouting stopped. That's how I understood that God was real.
Over time, we witnessed the greatest miracle: my father was transformed into a repentant man who feared God. The same man who had previously forbidden us from going to church was now the one who urged us to go every Sunday. Seeing him sing hymns was something I never imagined I would see.
My parents had a genuine change, but I had not yet surrendered my life to Christ. I knew a lot about Him, but in my heart I was living a double life: I taught children in the brick factories, but at school I lived as if I didn't know Him. That hypocrisy filled me with guilt.
In January 2014, at a Word of Life camp, sitting in front of the campfire, I clearly understood what I had previously only known by heart. That night I decided to give my life to Jesus as my personal Savior. From then on, everything changed: I shared Christ with my classmates, I served in the happy hour with more passion, and I was no longer under the burden of guilt.
When I finished school, I wanted to study at the CED of Palabra de Vida, but my dad asked me to get a degree first. So I started studying dentistry, with the desire to serve God through my profession. During my studies, I was able to share the gospel with classmates and teachers, and with God's help, I finished my degree in 2021. My desire to study at CED remained, but once again my dad asked me to set up my dental practice first. With great effort, and without hiring builders, my dad, my sister, and I built it and equipped it with two dental chairs and portable equipment so that I could treat patients in remote areas and share the gospel.
Since my family's conversion, God has given us a ministry in the brick factories, where children face poverty, violence, abuse, and drugs. Despite these harsh realities, they showed me more love than I could give. I have had the joy of seeing many of these little ones, who arrived with broken lives, grow up, enter college, and, above all, surrender to Christ. Today they serve alongside us in the ministry, showing the same love they once received.
