Hi, I'm Alma Jimenez Contreras. I minister in the Dominican Republic.
I am passionate about being involved in different evangelistic activities and being able to share the gospel face to face. I love working with the medical teams that come to the Dom Republic and being part of the live drama presentations in schools. In Word of Life, I am currently serving as the student recruitment manager for the CCM and work in Administration. I serve in the women’s ministry in both the network and logistics for the events. I also coordinate the service teams for the camp seasons, women's and Missionary conferences. In my Local Church, I am the Sunday school director, leader of the young adults and I support the women’s Bible studies.
I am also passionate about discipling ladies young and old. I always try to have at least one person to disciple always praying to be influential in their live. I love serving the Lord and consider it a privilege to be a useful instrument in his hands. I thank God for the opportunity to serve in the Word of Life Dominican Republic team and my local church.

God bless you!! Thank you for taking the time to see my profile to get to know me a little more.
I'm Alma Jimenez, from Dominican Republic, the youngest of 4 siblings. I didn't grow up in a Christian home, but I did know God from a very young age. I like to read, meet people from different places, go hiking and enjoy nature. Whenever I have the opportunity, I love exploring foods from different places and regions. I am grateful to be born in my country where I can enjoy the beaches and the mountains. I have been able to serve the Lord in different stages of my life. From my adolescence to college years, I was part of a ministry that was dedicated to evangelizing in schools and universities. I was very passionate about this. At the same time, I was very active in my local church as a Sunday school teacher and youth leader. However, over time I was neglecting my spiritual life and my communion with God. I did not walk away from God but my relationship with Him was cold. In that context, I received a cancer diagnosis that changed all my plans and perspective of life.
God worked in a wonderful way and healed me. The truth is that I was diagnosed in 2016 and I was discharged in 2017. However, the miraculous thing was that after the surgery, I had a pulmonary thromboembolism and then an intestinal fissure, a critical medical condition and spent 22 days in the ICU. For the doctors my recovery was a miracle, because all of these diagnoses, taken separately, are usually catastrophic. This was a testimony to me, my family and everyone around me. I knew about Word of Life because I was a Bible Club leader in my local church. After cancer, I had the opportunity to study for a year at the WOL Discipleship Training Center (CCM) in my country in person and 1 year by online of the World of Life Institute in Argentina. I served with WOL DR for 3 years a full-time associate then since 2023, I’ve been part of the Word of Life Dominican Republic Mission Team.
