Ministry Description

I am an intern with Word of Life New York and am working to learn more about camps and the things that go on behind the scenes. There are so many things that need to happen in the off season in order for the amazing camp ministry to run smoothly. Apart from the camp aspects of ministry, I will be helping to implement and set up campus activities for the many students of Word of Life Bible Institute.

About Ben

I was raised to know and love Jesus as my parents both knew and loved Him. As a young child I learned all about Him and what the gospel means to those who believe it! I was about 5 years old when I accepted Gods message and accepted Him as my savior. Since then I’ve had some ups and downs in my walk with God. I was drifting quite badly in the past 3 years living in a self destructive manner and felt angry with God and the world. Since my last year here at Word of Life and feeling the love and acceptance that only God can give has been amazing.

I have had an amazing year of growth and have been learning more and more about what God has for my life. I have a huge love for camp because through it God really opened my eyes to be able to see just how much He loved me. whether through my mom always giving me godly advice even when I didn’t want to hear it or my best friend always asking me if my decisions were the smart ones. It was at Snowcamp that I realized that God had carefully placed people who love me in my life who gave Godly advice and helped me turn to Him. I want to help others experience what I did, I want them to understand how much God loves them and cares for them.

He is all we need.

I am asking for you to pray and be open to supporting me in this internship. I’m thankful for each and every amount of support given to me, both spiritually and physically.

I would ask that you pray for me to continue with my desire to learn and grow in every aspect of my life. I want to grow as much as I can spiritually and emotionally.

I’d love to share two pieces of scripture that have led me further on my walk James 4:6 “But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” As well as Psalms 143:10 which says “Teach me to do your will, for you are my God! Let your good Spirit lead me on level ground!” Both texts are pieces of my life now. I try every day to be more humble and to be teachable. There is no room to grow and learn unless I am those two things. God has a lot to teach me and I’m ready to learn. And I am so excited to be led by the Spirit. I have turned away from God for too long and I want to do everything I can to make up for lost time.
