About Eliud

I grew up in a Christian family but I received Jesus as my Savior at the age of nine. During my teenage years I made poor decisions that gave me an empty life and not good spiritual growth. When I was 18 years old the Bible Club Program from Word of Life started in my church and one of the leaders disciple me and started to challenge my life with God’s Word. One Night in Word of Life camp God broke my heart and I surrendered myself to Him and gave Him all my life so He could use me in what He wanted. Two years later God called me to study His Word for three years at the Word of Life Bible Institute in Argentina. In 2006, I began ministering as a full time missionary in Guatemala reaching young people with God’s Word.

I grew up in a Christian home and had heard and believed all the Bible stories. I knew who Jesus was and that He died for my sins. I went to church, prayed, read my Bible, gave offerings, etc. but it was not until I was 15 years old that I finally understood the purpose of it all. When I was 15, I was reading a book by a Christian author and she clearly explained the Gospel: That all people are sinners in need of a Savior, that God loved us so much that He sent His One and Only, perfect Son, Jesus Christ to come and pay for my sins by dying on the cross, that God raised Jesus from the dead, conquering death, and one day, He will return for me. For the first time I understood and believed that I was a sinner (Romans 3:23) and because of this, I was and would be separated from God forever (Romans 6:23)God loved me so much that He sent His Son Jesus, to die for me. He paid for my sins (John 3:16). He rose again three days later and now is in Heaven, waiting to return for those who believe in Him. I finally understood it was not enough to just know all this, I had a decision to make. So, I prayed and confessed that I was a sinner and needed Jesus Christ to be my Savior. For the first time I had a joy I could not explain and a love for Jesus Christ I had not known. While I have had my struggles in the Christian walk, I have also had a consistent desire to follow my Savior and He continues to direct my steps.
