Ministry Description

As a Biblical counseling intern, I serve in the Center for Biblical counseling at the WOL campus in New York! I am currently enrolled in biblical counseling courses and have the opportunity to receive firsthand training from certified Biblical counselors. my day to day typically consists of classes in the mornings and afternoons as well as observing counseling cases in the evening and leading a discipleship group of Bible Institutes students. while also receiving discipleship and mentorship for myself.

About Emma

I was born into a home of unbelievers, one that was quite dysfunctional. It wasn’t until I was seven years old that I was introduced to the church through my grandfather, who had just come to faith within that same year. The local church was the first place where I witnessed the love of Christ.

When I was ten years old, I attended the Word of Life Ranch for summer camp with a group from my church. On Wednesday night of that week, the gospel was presented, and I was given the opportunity to accept Christ as my Savior, and I did. I realized that I was a sinner in need of a Savior, and that although my earthly father was not a loving role model in my life, there was a God in heaven who loved me so much that He sent His Son to pay the penalty for my sin.

Since that very day, I have known that I wanted to pursue counseling as a ministry, to help other girls find Christ and experience the hope, comfort, and peace that I was shown during one of the most trying times of my life. It is now a decade later, and I have the privilege and opportunity to be part of the Biblical Counseling Internship at Word of Life. I believe that this is an experience the Lord will continue to use throughout the rest of my life here on earth; all for His glory.
