When I was 12 years old, being part of a christian family, in the pastoral gabinet of my grandfather I was looking to the elements of the Lord's supper. My grandfather asked if I knew the meaning of those elements and then started to explain to me the work of Jesus at the cross.
There I understood the work of Jesus and began my walk to know the person of Jesus.
As a teenager in a public school, I faced many challenges—doubts, fears, mistakes, and temptations. Yet, even in my bad choices, I always felt that Jesus never left me behind. His presence was constant, even when I stumbled. The consistency of parents taking the hole family to the church was crucial for me, my knowledge of Jesus and constant repent.
As a young man, influenced by worldly desires, selfish decisions, and a lack of guidance, I often found myself at crossroads. But time and again, I felt Jesus pulling me back from choices that could have led to long-lasting consequences.. Every now and then He pushed me to make decisions of consagration for him and for his kingdom.
While I first understood the work of Jesus in my life at 12 years old, it was through my broken and imperfect walk with Him that I came to truly experience the greatness of His love and grace. He has always been by my side, even when I faltered, and for that, I am deeply grateful.
I was 19 years old with a long hair and ripped jeans because of Rock music influence when a missionary from Africa went to my church in an evening service and spoke so many things that God was doing on that ministry with young people. There I felt the call to be part of His mission! But only after 4 years I decided to leave university and my Job to go to Bible Institute and study more to serve the Lord. On those 4 years God was saving me from my own bad and selfish decision and before send me to Bible institute he sent me to serve in my local church.
Coming from a Catholic family, after moving to a new city, we found ourselves in a Baptist church where, for the first time, I heard the gospel at the age of 12. In that local church, I formed friendships with Christian girls who challenged me to surrender my life to Jesus as my Lord and Savior.
During my teenage and young adult years, I was discipled in that church, which provided a solid foundation of fellowship. It became a place of spiritual support, especially during the challenging years of studying far from home at a public university in Brazil.
Filipe and I have been married since 2009, when we began our journey in ministry together. We have three children: Luca (12), Davi (10), and Melissa (4).
