About

My name is Nicolás. I was born into a Christian home and accepted Christ at age twelve at the church where I attended services until I was sixteen. In high school, I made non-Christian friends who led me away from the church, causing me to disobey my parents and make bad decisions.
In mid-2010, upon returning from a trip, I learned that a friend had died in an accident. That event made me reflect on the brevity of life and led me to question God. I returned to church seeking answers and wanted to resume my life as a Christian—but on my own terms. Although I was baptized, I continued to live a double life marked by hypocrisy and pain, rejecting the Lord’s call.
In late 2012, I realized I had to decide between following my own path or returning to Christ. I prayed about it and waited. In January 2013, I attended a summer camp at Palabra de Vida for the first time. There, God answered my prayer around a campfire through Hebrews 12:5: “The Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son.” Overwhelmed with tears, I understood his love and decided to dedicate my life to him, leaving my double life behind.
That same year, I learned about the CED (Center for Evangelism and Discipleship) and dedicated a year of my life to the Lord; it was a year of restoration, blessing, and decisions. Upon returning home, I served at my church in Horas Felices and in youth groups, where I met Maribel. We got married in July 2015, and together we decided to serve as youth leaders at the church.
In 2018, Maribel felt the desire to train at CED, just as I had, and together we experienced a year of great blessings and decisions during which God confirmed her calling to serve Him full-time in His work. Since then, we have been serving God as a family alongside our sons Natan and Ian at Palabra de Vida under this promise: “For this God is our God forever and ever; He will guide us even beyond death” (Psalm 48:14).

About Maribel

My name is Maribel. I was born into a very traditional Catholic family, where religiosity shaped my life; I even served as an altar girl during mass.
At the age of 15, I attended a youth meeting in a Christian church for the first time. There I realized that I was lost and that my religious efforts would not lead me to heaven. A month later, I gave my life to the Lord and received Him as my personal Savior.
My parents opposed my decision and forbade me from attending church or reading the Bible. However, the more I read it, the stronger my conviction grew that I needed Christ. A year later, after much prayer, they allowed me to attend a camp; three months later I was baptized. Although they accepted my decision, they remained firm in their own beliefs.
In 2004, I entered university to study medicine and began discipleship in the church. I served in ministries with children, youth, and women, always praying for my family. In 2014, I traveled to Brazil to specialize in medicine; that same year I met my husband, and we began a long-distance relationship. When I returned, we married in 2015, and together we served as youth leaders and visited hospitals.
In 2018, God allowed me to prepare at CED. That year He reminded me of the purpose of my life and His call to serve Him full-time with this promise: “You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.” (John 15:16).
Today, together with my family, we serve in Word of Life Bolivia, grateful to be part of what God is doing in every generation.
